I just put one of these on layaway and now I'm seeing reports of light primer strikes, especially with Remington and Barnes ammo. Has anyone had this problem with their rifles and has Ruger fixed the problem with current production guns?

I've got one and I haven't noticed that being a problem. I may have had one primer that didn't ignite but I don't think I'll blame the gun. I've been shooting mostly reloads with CCI primers but some Remington factory loads too.

The issue with 300blk light strikes is typically not the gun. The headspace on 300blk brass is tricky to get correct.
Ask anyone who reloads it and does not own a case gauge.

The folks at Handi rifle used over powered springs and a massive FP to overcome this (think AK) and it is still sometimes an issue with factory ammo.
The acceptable tolerance is small and the FP protrusion is minimal due in part to the AR platforms slamfire possibility.

I get around this by leaving my headspace slightly proud. The instructions that come with a case gauge recommend sizing based on the upper limit, rather than the lower for exactly this reason.

Ive had no problems......nut i only shoot subsonic rounds and have only had to neck size my brass so far.

I guess I should've also indicated that for right now I'll be shooting factory ammo...... thanks for the responses!!!
