I recently acquired a 3-screw Single Six. The only cylinder with it is for 22 LR. I do not know whether there had been a 22 Magnum cylinder with it before I got it. The serial number is 477XXX. I cannot find numbers in that range except for 22 Magnum Single Sixes. Did all the Magnum ones also have a Long Rifle cylinder? My other Single Six 3-screw, 482XXX, has both cylinders. Is it likely that this recent one came with both cylinders from the factory, and the Magnum cylinder has been misplaced? Should the Magnum cylinder from one of my revolvers fit both revolvers?

I have the remains of my first 22 single six 3- screw 305XXX. It only had the 22 Mag cylinder and the left side of the frame, under the cylinder, is inscribed RUGER SINGLE-SIX and beneath that, WIN. 22 RF MAG. CAL. It is my understanding that if you need to replace a cylinder, you need to send the gun to Ruger so that they can time the cylinder for that pistols action. Swap cylinders at your own risk.

Thanks for the information. The one I just received does not have any inscription that mentions Magnum. It must be a convertible with the Magnum cylinder missing. I will contact the previous owner to see if it might have been misplaced.
