So I was offered a Ruger SR9 yesterday - never owned a 9mm before, really had no idea of it's worth but I knew the gun had good history, looks like it had never been fired, came with 3 mags. Actually belonged to my friend's brother who passed away, so he really didn't know much about the gun. Did I do OK at $475 or did I pay too much? Looked it up by serial number, it was made in 2009. For better or worse it's mine now.

So I was prob on the high side for this one.:(
It's an FDE model which I've never seen, so that's still pretty neat. I looked these over hard when I first got into firearms, but I couldn't fall in love with the manual safety. Nevertheless, my understanding is that they're pretty solid pistols.

Price is on the high side, but it should be a solid pistol. I like the color.

I wouldn't worry about the price either. In defense or recreation, it's intrinsic value is more than $475.

OD Green was manf 2009 - 2010, per my Blue Book the OD Green carries a premium now.
There is a Ruger recall on serial #s 330-29999 and earlier.

I owned one for a bit. It was a good gun and never gave me problems. Very similar to a Glock, but more ergonomic.

You may have paid a bit to much, but you were helping a friend so I would overlook that. The Ruger SR series are great solid pistols, mine will eat anything I put through it and is just a joy to shoot are are the rest of the SR family of pistols I have.
