Ruger's PC Charger Pistol

I was just looking for a short barrel kit for the ruger pcc......

I have to say....that is pretty cool. Sure ticks a lot of boxes.

Ugly, Looks like something that came with a G.I. Joe figure. However it takes Glock magazines also! I have tons of 33 round magazines that would fit perfectly in that thing! Add a pistol brace and fits a need! I’m in!

anybody know when it comes out?

Hopefully there will be a Trump orange version

The PC is now in take down Charger form.

"Logic" tells me that there is no niche for a 6.5" barrel 9mm PCC/pistol. But then, people say the same thing about my Ruger PCC. Thank goodness I'm as broke as a feral gummint!

Are there brace adapters already on the market that connect to a picatinny rail on the rear of the pistol?

NVM. My googlefu found the answer. Sweet.....

I had the 16" carbine version. It was well made, ran great, and it was plenty accurate. I ended up selling it because I didn't like the way the blowback recoil impulse felt. Something about it just felt 'off' and try as I might, I couldn't get used to it. It also felt a bit like a solution in search of a problem. If I'm going to grab a long gun, I'm going to grab something with a little more range and power than a 9mm.

However, this new pistol version does interest me! With a side folding brace, this could make for a very handy package. I'll need to look up the measurements and do a little soul searching and see if I want to go for this version.

Why does buying a pistol have to mean taking to trip to the sheriff's office? I thought the FOID was lame, but it turns out that was a special once every ten years sort of lame that was renewable from home online. I still haven't found a CHP class here that fits my schedule... maybe I just found the little kick in the butt I needed to get things done...but the social distancing thing is going to make this take even longer...

Quoted because I can only like it once. Your experience pretty much mirrors mine.

The recoil impulse is just weird. My shoulder doesn't even notice it, but my cheek doesn't like it. Not painful, but unpleasant.

If the Charger version had been available before I bought the Carbine, I probably wouldn't have the Carbine. Probably keep it anyway, and add a Charger with a folding brace.
I just wish it wasn't take down. Seems to me to be a useless feature on something so small already.

It will turn out to be a handy feature if parts ever become available for caliber swaps.

Very interesting. Side folder for sure.

I do find it amusing that the trigger assembly says, my brother is a 10/22.

I must have heard this a thousand times. Don't think of it as a rifle, think of it as a much better pistol. IMO PCCs are excellent HD weapons. If they need a reason to exist, that is it. Much lower blast and recoil enables accurate rapid fire and won't blow out your eardrums in a hallway. More velocity than a pistol too.
#2. Ammo cost.
#3. Fun factor.
#4. Ammo/mag compatibility with pistol if you're into that sort of thing.

I tell you what, that firearm design and a good single point sling would be fun doing the SAS technique style of shooting on this pistol. No need for a brace with the in-line design.

I can't help but compare this to the Extar 9. I don't know a lot about either but the biggest differences are takedown on the Ruger and I assume the Extar is much lighter weight, being almost all polymer. The Ruger is something I might buy to keep and even hand down, the Extar to keep in the car!

I've always loved the carbine, but the long barrel just seemed like such a waste of weight and length.

Given it's reliable platform and swappable grip and Glock magazine compatibility... this fits the bill for a lot of shooters that want a "long gun" for HD that don't want an actual long gun. Also a good way to introduce new shooters as a pistol 1.5 from a .22 long gun.
