Run out of wiggle room

There are many online communities, and Ive been a part of a dozen ever, starting two of them.
Of all of those, including my own, THIS is the tightest Ive seen people online

Just ask

I'm a black hearted cynic. I despise almost everything especially people. I expect to be cheated and lied to and scorned because it's happened enough times before.

This place makes it damn hard to hold those views, let me tell you. I have never found such a hive of good, caring, generous people. Makes it bloody hard to be a proper curmudgeon.

This is why I've followed this group for 10 years and three different forums.

Alright, lets stop the gayness shall we.

9mm or 45?

Meringue or whipped cream

Dukes or your wrong

The wifey got Mary Berrys cook book a while back. The wife made Mary's lemon meringue pie. Wow, so that what REAL meringue is. I never new it could be crispy.

Oh yeah. One of my faves was a meringue sandwich with plain whipped cream in it. Simple and delicious.

How can a man This smart be in the shape you're in??? You are brilliant!!!! Only since we agree on This...

I'm only smart about things that are useless to me in my general life.

Update, most of it not great news. I know you're shocked.

Someone stole our riding mower.

I'm moving into a camper in the yard shortly, waiting on locks to arrive and had to sort a couple of things out for that.

In order to renew my long overdue driver's licence I had to go get glasses and that ate up most of my funds, what's left is going on the bills momentarily so expect me to be listing the last of the guns and outdoor stuff shortly, once I figure out what might actually sell.

Once I get the licence sorted I've got to figure out what to do about tags, tax and all the other government drains on your wallet since they're all overdue. Waiting to hear back about the job since I now have my I9, applying for more today.

Also the AC vents under the house need rebuilding apparently, so that's something to look forward to.

Just trying to deal with one thing at a time. Glad winter is finally here though.

Edit: weirdly I've gone from never drinking tea to completely replacing coffee with tea. Expect me to ask for tariffs on forum transactions and seize all your keyboards next. I've always thought red was a damn silly colour for a coat to get shot at in mind.

I am pretty handy on remodel/restore stuff. My labor is free. If you need help on ANYTHING, just pm me. If I can I will help. Sometimes just having someone come by and help is emotionally helpful.

@NCLivingBrit

Sounds like you have made some progress with the I9 and the driver's license. Awesome!

I offer these thoughts and opinions as encouragement. I wouldn't ask you do to anything I haven't done or currently do, I believe in these principals. That said, take what you deem to be beneficial, leave the rest. I don't have all the answers, that is for certain.

Spend 8 hours a day looking for, and/or preparing for a job. If you get a 40 hour a week job, good. Now go find a second job that won't interfere with the first.

C.O.P your living space. Your home, car, yard, etc... C.O.P = clean, organize, pick up. Just 10-15 minutes a day. Disheveled spaces and appearances can, and often times, reflect our mental state.

If you aren't living in the house, then the A/C ducts are not your concern.

Put effort into eating cleaner, exercising, and doing something mentally simulating, like reading or watching educational YouTube videos. You want incremental improvements compared to yourself yesterday. Not someone else. 20-30 minutes a day.

Engineer yourself a "win." Progress will beget more progress. Manage your time AND priorities, so that you feel productive about your day.

Make a schedule, starting with a wake up time, that is consistent. Write stuff down, like to-do lists, goals, and accomplishments... No matter how insignificant they seem.

Notice a few task I mentioned have a time frame attached. Point is, be intentional with your time. Adjust the specific numbers as needed.

Last, but not least: Consider a relationship with God. A sincere request for guidance could go a long way.

You got this. Press on.

Got my tags renewed so for the first time in 2 years I only have to worry about getting pulled over if I do something stupid.

Kind of nice to leave the driveway and not be on tenterhooks the whole time.

Of course the downside is between new glasses and all the government thievery for the car I am now piss broke, but I have an interview tomorrow for a full time gig.

I have followed this thread from the beginning and I think this is my first post here.

Like the others have said, keep your chin up. I know sometimes it seems like everything sucks and nothing is going your way. It can always be worse. You have a roof over your head and food on the table. It might not be the standard of living you are used to or want long term but again, it could be worse.

I went through what I considered hard times in college and every time I turned around things weren’t going my way. I busted my ass and with some “luck” things got much better. Same thing will happen for you I’m sure of it.

If you ever make it back towards Youngsville shoot me a PM. I live about 5 miles from your old place and I’d be happy to buy you lunch or dinner to catch up. Kevin (Fortkevin2 on CSC)

Ok good news first, because it makes a nice change. Had an interview Thursday with the same company I got the job with before the I9 mess, just a different site. I'll be stuck paying NC and VA tax but I need work badly so beggars can't be choosers.

Bad news: I had to list stuff I don't want to sell on Armslist (H&R 410 and an Investarms Hawken I really, really don't want to part with).

Didn't get any nibbles here before, so I'm going to have to deal with all the retarded offers to trade for a PS2 or weed in the hope of raising some money for bills.

Now I can legally leave the house it's a lot easier to get stuff done and get to interviews though. At least until the car insurance runs out.

Hi, not sure if you have seen the official State of NC jobs site https://www.nc.gov/jobs
Hang in there, you're going to make it!

I've applied there many times before, the one interviewer I had quietly said unless I was an ethnic female I was likely SOL. I keep applying though.

Several jobs here on the board for “roster “ positions. 1,000 hours every 6 months I think. But it gets your foot in the door to a full time benefitted position if you’re interested. If you decide to fill out an application and need help, PM me

@NCLivingBrit

Can you sell those gun to someone you know? Someone who would agree to hold them for you for a certain amount of time?

Alas I don't really have anyone for that. The H&R isn't a big deal but I really would rather keep the Hawken. Needs must though. I'm digging through my stash looking for alternate stuff also, mostly what's worth the sale is stuff that nobody seems to be looking for like surplus packs etc

Check out the many auto parts chains, they always need delivery drivers for the company cars.

Whatcha want/need for each of those?

More news, some good some less so.

I got a job today. A hospital security gig in Eden. Good money, 3rd shift which I prefer, full time.

Bad news is it doesn't start until December 1st. I'll pick up some hours doing various training gigs (I have to get CPR certified and other stuff because it's a hospital) but not full hours until the place opens.

So, if I can muddle through until December I'll be sorted. Fingers crossed.

If I were looking for .gov employment, I would seriously consider donning a dress and smearing on some lipstick for the interview.

Ok, completed my training and induction today, I'm now a certified security dude. The class is terrifyingly easy honestly.

No uniform issue because it wasn't here yet but I've got a mess of FEMA etc training to do before the site opens December 1st so I should get some hours. Unless some calamity occurs I should have enough cash from selling stuff to carry me to paycheque time, even with having to start new car insurance.

Fingers crossed I may be out of this hole before I know it.

Now poor one out for my dead homie, left on the streets.

Double bonus points if you had kept the beard though.

I trimmed it down but it just looked awful. I had forgotten how much I look like a really sketchy clergyman without the beard.

All I need is a red outfit and some catamites lol
