I have officially put myself on the ballot for Board of Directors.

For those that are members, my real name is John Royer. I’m a Sagittarious, dont like long walks on the beach, and I don't like getting caught in the rain unless there is an umbrella or coat around.

What platform are you running on? Are your bribes cash only? Will you be printing hats?
Why such tough questions? After consulting with my legal team, my answers are:

IDK
Yes
Uh, yea

Been there, done that, thank GOD I didn't get elected. Of course that was back when they took the ballots into the kitchen out of sight and counted them. Really??
I gave up on the politics of the club a LONG time ago. Never made sense anyway, too many old guys that don't even shoot anymore and shouldn't have ANY say about the club but since their all "Buddies" they keep electing themselves....
Have you really thought this all the way through??

You are obviously made of sterner stuff. I am a specialized work committee chair who has to report to the board twice a year and membership once a year. Those BOD meetings are just painful. Good luck to you sir.

How far to do have to run?
Funny story... when I was young and Bill Clinton was running, the news stated “Bill Clinton is running for office” while showing a clip of him litterally running through a park. For that reason I thought running had something to do with becoming president for a few years lol.

Good luck sir!

I've thought long and hard about coming forward today. I do so not for any personal gain. I'm concerned about the impact on my family's security. But on the advice of counsel and Dianne Feinstein. I have to tell the truth. Butter touched me inappropriately. It was years ago on a date I can't remember and at a location I've forgotten. But that booty, that booty I'll never forget

I'll post a link to my go fund me shortly.

Tuned it for you

Yes, I have been thinking of it for 4 months. I went to a meeting to pitch a CFF class and I’ve never felt more uncomfortable and out of place.

Thats a true statement. I remember it very clear. It was at Woodys for a shotgun class, January 5,2013. The day started a little cold, then it warmed up some if the afternoon. As we broke for lunch, we headed to the shed from the pistol bays. I drove, you rode shotgun. We laughed and joked about life and its meaning, then our eyes locked. It was a special day Ill never forget.

Good luck, Im on the Board for the range I belong to

It's the Fudd's.... Even as a 20+ year member I sometimes feel the same way at monthly meets. Obviously you're a member, have you gone to any of the BOD meetings and just sat and observed?? You do have that right...

I didn't know that there were many county wildlife associations left, except maybe Cumberland County? Years ago they were all over the state but they seem to have mostly disappeared. What do they do anyway? From my dealings with them it's mostly cook (rice being the big item on every menu, mixed with whatever cheap meat they can find) and bother people to come speak. Do they actually do anything for wildlife?

We allow hunter safety teams to use our facilities. Host the District 8 shoot. Sponsor a couple kids to 4H camp. Have a yearly hunt fish day event open to the public. And work with BSA. Along with offering hunter safety classes and women on target some. It’s written into our constitution. We have to find ways.

We also cook and bother people to speak.

Last time I went to a meeting to vouch for a new member (at a different club), I wanted to beat myself in the head with a hammer after about 20 minutes of the meeting...

Does this mean that bump stock for my ar might actually see some usage?

Let's hope not. Just because it's "legal" doesn't mean it's a good thing for the club and it's neighbors. We have (as the crow flies) 6 or 8 churches within 1.5 miles and countless residents. Do you really think they want to hear (what they would perceive as) full auto fire?? I doubt it. We have tried to maintain good neighbor relations with everyone since I'm been a member and I hope it continues into the future.

As far as what RCWA "does", it doesn't have to do anything, it's a club that's been in existence since back in the late 40's I believe. There is no hunting on the property so I guess it's a wildlife preserve of sorts. We also sponsor several youth shooting programs as well as hunter safety programs through NCWRC. There are numerous Law Enforcement agencies that are allowed to use our facility for qualification and training purposes. And many other programs....

I'll just disagree here and leave it at that.

You will find a lot of clubs to disagree with. Part liability. Part neighbor relations. It actually took some arm twisting to ok suppressors at my club. They had a blanket NFA ban. I think that’s been whittled down to no full auto. They also ban bump stocks and 50 BMG.

This.

Full auto is great, until it isn’t. How many people can shoot full auto and keep it all in the berm? How many of their friends can? Who remembers the little kid(!) allowed to shoot an SMG that shot his/her own dad or the RSO that happened a few years ago?

If your backstop is 1000 acres of gamelands, it may be reasonable but very few clubs have that luxury.

It may be a restriction in the NRA liability insurance that a lot of clubs rely on, no info but would not be surprised.

I still disagree with it. When and where does it stop? You live next to or close to a firearms range. You will hear noise. Sort of like these people that by houses next to an airport and bi#$h about the planes. But this is just my opinion. And will follow the laws of the club I choose to be a member at.

For comparison, PHA bans FA and slide fire stocks...but I don't see anything in the rules for 50 BMG. And I've never seen anybody questioned for shooting faster than a slide fire stock could actually do, and you know there are several here with a proper trigger that could make you think they're shooting FA.

There are those people. And they also know how to control the gun when shooting that fast, and they can’t loan their trigger finger to a friend to try out. And if they fall down or panic their finger doesn’t keep pulling the trigger many times every second. Just sayin’

On a good day with a good trigger my splits can be about .15, so about 400 rounds/min (not sustained for that long of course). I know quite a few people that can shoot that fast or faster.

I get the whole freedom thing. But a shooting club is in a precarious position. I don’t want some real or imagined incident to close my club if disallowing FA will avoid a lot of those incidents. And shooting clubs are private organizations that make decisions and policy for the good of the membership, not just short term fun but long term viability of the club - those policies are not laws or regulation and do not infringe anyone’s rights.
