Hey all, we’re going to be camping next week at South Mountain state park and was wondering if anyone out that way has any thoughts or experience with the folks at rkguns in morganton. Looks to be like a tractor supply with a gun section. Is it worth a stop? Thanks!

Place is not a clean place. Guns are over priced as well as ammo. There is a thread on here somewhere that spells it out pretty well.

All of this is my opinion and it's worth what you paid for it.

I'd never heard of this business and was expecting memes about the male versions of trailer park queens.

Unless you are looking for ammo … or a specific new gun skip the big box stores.

Box stores are not usually my stops when traveling … the little Mom & Pop LGS’s and pawn shops are. They are where I hunt for treasure in their used gun cases or racks. Even funnier is the LGS’s owners who watch you walk by the new shiny stuff to their used stuff will sometimes talk to you different because some understand the possibility you’re more into it than someone looking at the latest and greatest … but some others can think you’re cheap. A few months ago I spotted a Camp 9 in an LGS and picked it up first … immediately the owner was there talking so nice. He even pulled out a couple guns he had taken in on consignment but hadn’t entered in his bound book … he had an idea I’d likely be more interested than the next 10 or 20 customers who walked in. That type LGS is worth the stop and supporting.

Any thought on some better mom and pop shops out that way? Looking for a good like new mark4 22/45
