S&W Airweight choice

It's always shocking to me to see that when you put a reasonably sized grip on a J-frame that it is about as tall as a 15-round compact double stack.

Before the Sig P365, glock really was the capacity:size ratio king.

@Combat Diver : do you prefer the J-frame for pocket carry because of the DAO trigger? weight? or both?

I occasionally pocket carry my P365 but it is a fair bit heavier due to way more booolits...

I guess an on topic post would say that I find the trigger on the Performance Center 642 to be REALLY good and it is smaller and lighter than the LCR. My model 49 is a sentimental favorite, but it is a bit heavier with a steel frame.

I used to carry a 642 for pocket carry but later moved to a Ruger LCP because I shot it better.

CTC made a smaller size grip for the J frame but I got a $60 deal for this new set. For pocket carry I do like the DAO trigger of the 442 and nothing to snag on. It can also function and fire thru a pocket if needed. Glocks need a holster to cover the trigger.

Smith has made numerous 3" J frames in .38/.357 both fixed and adjustable sights

Yes, I'm quite familiar with the 3" and 5" J-frames. I've never seen a 4" J-frame in .38 or .357.

I carried a 642 as back up for many years. I got my first one sometime in the early 90s. Carried one up until Glock came out with the 43, never really switched to the 43 100%. Like @Combat Diver said the 442s/642s can be fired in some concealed locations that will turn a semi-auto into a single shot. My previous dentist was a really good person and a strong 2A supporter. He carried a 642 in his front trouser pocket every day at his office. If you didn't know him well, you would neer have known. They are great in the front pocket when wearing dress trousers with crappy belts.
