Sad Time for My Son’s and My Friend

I’m saddened today to learn my and my son’s friend Daniel”s parents passed Thursday in a tragic way as his father ended both their lives with two of the daughters having to witness the senseless act. Daniel is an officer in the United States Army where he is a Ranger.

Four of his sisters are young and have no parents to raise them now. The oldest girl will be taking the girls but also has 4 small children of her own I believe. Daniel’s commitment to his country keeps him from being there for them currently. He is in second year of service since graduating from App State. This young man and his siblings are some of the most respectful and kind people you could ever meet. The pain of this is weighing heavily on all those 7 siblings. A Go Fund Me has been set up for the 4 youngest girls.

Damn that just sucks. Its a shame that they have to take someone with them when they decide to pop a cap on themselves. I wish him and his siblings well.
 
The words horrible senseless tragedy doesn't come close to describing such an act. Prayers for peace and comfort for the remaining family and friends.

Prayers sent for the remaining family, and friends, all of whom will have to deal with this forever. This is just terrible.
 
I’m not sure if the father is deceased yet but I do know he shot himself in the head and was being kept alive with no hope for more than being non functioning. I assume that decision will come after the mother’s funeral services. The generosity of many people has been great thru the fund raiser but it will never be enough for 4 minor children. With the older sister having 4 children of her own heck she will need a 10 passenger vehicle just to port kids from place to place.

Our friend, the brother recently finished Ranger School and was scheduled this week to be sent to Hawaii permanently I assume. Hopefully the military will let him stay stateside until all the arrangements and affairs for his family can be accomplished. I don’t know how this works in the Army but his life is currently centered on moving the sisters into their new home. The trauma for kids who witnessed the murder/suicide has been difficult I am being told and counseling is being given for those two.

I have a link for an Amazon account for sending wish list for the girls and I will be forwarding items they need such as hygiene products, clothing, and education items. More adjustments ahead for all involved.
