Botach’s running a deal on the Grey Ghost Gear Apparition bag. Only ones on sale are the green/grey, orange/grey, navy/green. Normally a $250 bag...on sale for $90.

    Here’s a yoo-toob review...

Went ahead and picked one up. Once I get it and have a chance to do a bit of testing, I’ll post pics/a review.

Yeah that’s a really good bag

I got a triple mag rack WITHOUT the Molle loops, just a Velcro backing and along with some fabric glue, added it to the middle compartment. I can take a picture later tonight.

It’ll easily hold a 10.5-12.5” unsuppressed AR. It’s got a heavy duty extender at the bottom you can unzip and expand that will allow the bag to accommodate a 16” rifle or a suppressed 10.5” rifle. I’ve also put a suppressed 16” rifle in the bag WITHOUT the extender, but with the upper and lower separated and it works just fine

Also on the bottom near that extender pouch, it’s got another zippered compartment that houses a rain fly, so if you’re hiking or on the range or whatever, you can pop out the rain fly and the elastic band holds it in place around the bag

Very comfortable to wear, good straps and padding. There isn’t a ton of additional storage space inside so this wouldn’t be like a bugout bag with room for three days of supplies plus a rifle, it’s more like rifle, mags/ammo and some other essentials.

I can take some photos of mine later if someone is interested in a certain aspect of it

    ^^^^

    Sounds awesome.

Does the pack have any internal support, like you’d find on an internal frame pack, such as an HDPE frame sheet?

Looks like a real nice get home bag. Something that you can have in the trunk of the car and get it out if you need to walk. One thing to remember is that in NC you can't carry a "rifle" in that bag under your CHP.

This is the main reason “pistols” are better than SBR IMO.

There is some sort of flat panel thing sewn inside of it I believe. It’s not just padding that keeps you from feeling rifle bits poking your back. I missed this post, I’ll look at the bag more closely tonight

South Carolina’s CWP laws restrict overall length of your carry gun unfortunately. No restriction on rifle carry so you’d be better off with an SBR, however, you’re allowed to transport pistols in a case so I don’t see that this would pose a problem unless you’re just toodling around Walmart with it on

    Yeah?

Under the 2nd Amendment to the Bill of Rights, .gov can't interfere/meddle with the right of free people to own/possess/carry arms, yet they do it every day.

Can't is subjective...it is a street than runs both ways.

Chest thumping like that is stupid IMHO. It’s puffery and unnecessary. I personally am not going to put my family’s welfare at risk so I can tote around an SBR vs a braced pistol. Clearly YMMV

A braced pistol is precisely what I intend to carry in it.

huh, interesting, I didn’t realize that SC would allow you to conceal a rifle. Wonder what other states it’s legal in? Did a quick search and couldn’t find anything.

I wouldn’t be surprised if most don’t touch the subject as the assumption is that a long gun isn’t concealable.

There are no specifics in S.C. law anywhere that I can find that mentions long guns (except the basics like using one to commit a crime is a crime in and of itself and you can’t bring them into police stations, courts etc). Nothing about how to transport in a vehicle, no info. Kind of good on one hand, less is more when it comes to .gov, but I don’t want to get someone giving me their interpretation of what they think it should be if I’m ever stopped while transporting long guns.

There is a plastic sheet thing inside of it but it’s stitched into it. Runs the length of the bag but they have it trimmed for width ways for shape and fitment

My 10.5” with suppressor and suppressor extension. Those pouches on the flap will hold AR mags.

Photo showing all the padding. The waist belt has large zippered pouches that’ll hold a 30rd mag sideways on each side
    [IMG]

Bottom of the bag showing the rain fly pocket and the suppressor extension. An elastic band sewn to the bottom of the rainfly keeps it retained by the pouch so it doesn’t get lost or something

That's the least "gun looking" bag I've seen yet. I like that it's not black or camo or fde or OD...

    Would that I wasn't broke...

If it had been green and grey I would like it even more (red isn’t really a color I gravitate towards) but I figured it’s probanlg a good thing since it reduces the tactical look that much more. It blends in by NOT blending in

Absolutely. If you need any other shots let me know

Yeah, red is a bit much for me too. I do want the hill people chest rig in red though since it's the only non-tactical color available.

I like the Orange/green/grey options... I prefer to look like an REI employee than a soldier of fortune when I am out and about...

You mean like the grey & lime green one that’s on sale? I’ll buy the grey/lime and swap you if you want.

As an NCSU grad, nobody would question me carrying a red one. :D

    @11B CIB

    Bag came in today....

You were right; it’s an awesome bag and my 10.3 test fit in there perfect with room to spare.

I’m doing a few mods and sorta “making it my own”...I’m really going to like this bag once I get it set up.

Thanks for going through all the effort of taking/posting pics and giving us your review of it.

Got the orange and grey bag in today...came much faster than expected. I can, snugly fit a side folding IWI Galil Ace full size rifle in it. Granted, it's tight and barrel pushes on top of it....but it zips close no problem. Lots more adjustable tha i thought too. Im 6'5" and the shoulder straps adjust a ton. Very nice bag for the money.

I’ve had a tab open with this deal for a couple months. Finally decided to order one today and they’re OOS.

Anybody happen to buy one they decided not to use?

These are very nice bags! I ordered one a few months back when they went on sale at Botach and got it quickly (seems to be hit and miss with people). It was a little bigger than I wanted and it ended up in a trade deal. As I said, I was impressed, but wasn’t exactly what I needed at the time.

I just asked them on their chat, but they’re not there. Maybe I get an email reply. I also posted the question on Amazon.

If I get an answer, I’ll post it up.

Their website isn’t a help in answering this question. Google wasn’t much help either...saw some references to “US made” but those seemed to be in reference to the Tactical Taylor partnership a few years back. I saw a mention of Vietnam, but that was an old post and not about this bag. I don’t remember seeing anything on any tags on mine, when I had it, but I likely wasn’t really looking either!

Why is that? Never heard of SOE but after browsing their site, they seem to be a little pricey, at least on par with GGG, and seems like they have mostly large gear bags and a bunch of small items like tool rolls and shopping bag dispensers.
Seems like making discreet gun bags is a challenge for most gear companies.
