School me on electric bass guitars

Well, thanks to a flaky CL buyer, I am the proud owner of a Fender MIM P Bass. It looks exactly as pictured with not a mark on it that I can find. The seller was a very nice guy, and brought me an amp to keep included in the purchase price of the bass. He said it was his demo amp and this was his last axe for sale and didn't really need it anymore. It'll be fine for an amp for me to learn with.

Thanks everyone for the help and suggestions.
Yellow?

Or was that a greeting? As in, "When the phone goes green, green, green, I pink it up and say 'Yellow!' "
Just confirming which item you purchased
Looks good, enjoy!!

Grats on the purchase!

My first bass was MIM P-bass.. made in1994.. stolen in 2003. Had a 78 Musicmaster that was a kot of fun, and then a 74 Gibson Ripper that I wish I still owned..paid 375 for it in 98 or 99.. now theyre like 10x the cost.

I miss standing in front of a big Ampeg rig on stage and rockin out. Good times!

I dont want to muddy the thread...but here we go
Last Saturday I missed a 150 MIM Fender tele at an estate sale
I missed it by a minute. Seriously.
The guy was in just a minute before me ,I only went for that guitar. Oh well.

My second wife and I were devoted yard and estate sale attendees.** We learned to get there early, as in opening time, for a good estate sale. Yard sales were spread out, so we did the best we could. I bought my first 21 speed bike over a period of two weeks, putting the best parts together from the first one ($3) and the second one ($10), and riding it for a time before I splurged on a new Trek. I bought a Yamaha classical acoustic for $50. That MIM would have been a great find.

**Come to think of it, when I started shooting sporting clays and left her alone on Saturday mornings, is about when we started to fall apart. Oh well, some things just ain't worth it.
