I have a CZ 455 American and am looking to put a scope on it. Looking at the Argos 6-24x50. My question if you know, what rings would you put on this rifle for a 30mm tube with a 50mm objective. At this time, I don't plan on putting on a DIP rail, just using the 11mm dovetails. Looking at these and wasn't sure if the obj. would clear the barrel with high/medium rings.

Considering the 732 30mm 7.3/22 High Rings or the 731 30mm 7.3/22 Medium Rings

Thoughts?

Thanks for any insight.

IMO that is a ton of scope for that rifle. Why 30mm tube and 50mm objective? I guess if you compete in bench rest I get it. I have a Leupold 3-9x33 EFR Rimfire on one CZ and it is perfect. Get an adjustable objective. If you are shooting 22lr it does make a difference. I have a Sightron S1 AO 4-12x40 on my 455. Have only shot it a few times, but it is nice. Glass is not as clear as the Leupold, but for almost 1/2 the money it is very good. I tend to like smaller, more versatile scopes as I want rifles that are practical at the range and if I want to kill a fuzzy little critter. Bench rest may be a different deal.

Only way to tell on clearance is get all the specs and do the math. Or check out rimfire central. They have an ongoig scope and ring set up thread. I like the Burris Z rings. DIP rails are handy too. Post some pics when you get it all set up. We like CZ threads.

I got 2 ... the first is a 455 Varmint with a Leupold VX2 4-12x40 with simple Warne 7.3/22 high rings ...

... and the second is a 455 after market long barreled Tacticool with an Athlon Ares BTR 4.5-27x50 on a DIP 25 MOA rail mounted with Seekins Medium High rings

Is the Ares worth the money? I can't decide if I want to step up to it or just buy another Argos. I would love to be able to look through them side by side. From what I've read the HD glass is nice.

I say yes especially since it was a heck of a deal thru a forum group buy thru @hlpressley. I also really have not had a lot of time behind it but it appears to be as clear as my Leupolds and Vortexes. A preliminary adjustment tracking test showed it holds true with no shifting. It also has elevation adjustment to go past 200 yards at full mag with the DIP rail. If you want to try crazy distances (say 200 yards or more) I say it’s worth it but if you are going to hang under a 100 yards I’d still say maybe depending on you budget.

Happy to hear that you are happy with it. I have similar feelings about all of mine. As a matter of fact, I think most everyone who has them likes them!

Thanks for all the reply's.

Why even suppress that? Lol

You should hear (or should I say not hear) standard velocity match ammo out of it with the little can ... it’s the sear break/firing pin and impact on whatever target :D

The Varmint is 20.5” and when I suppress it for squirrel the squirrel next to the one shot just looks over at his friend like “what the?” then he goes down also. My kid takes down groups of squirrels without them running for the first 3 or 4 quite a few times ... these 2 at 25 yards plus are nearly Hollywood quiet with standard velocity ammo.

I have an Oculus that I should be getting back any time (looking like January - February). I have an 18” Kidd 10/22 and a FVSR 16”

Finally wound up getting these.

BKL-303L-MB 0.6" Long Dovetail Rings - Low - Matte Black

Which rings did you decide to go with? I am also thinking about getting the Argos 6-24x50 to put on a CZ455.
You might want to look at the Burris Signature rings with offset inserts.
