Hi Folks,
Question: How critical is bullet seating depth in cowboy loads for 45 Colt?

TIA
Elmer

With Trailboss, You can't seat it deep enough to cause a safety issue.

However, it may not cycle in your carbine (assuming it's a lever action.)
Some require a minimum COAL for the tube cutoff/elevator to work properly.

Make a few dummy rounds to test with.

Thanks. These are for a revolver and I ask because I can't always maintain the recommended COL and crimp to the cannelure. I'm thinking that should not be much of an issue if it's not a compressed or near compressed load. Is that correct?

I've always heard that you don't want to compress Trailboss. Fill the case up to the base of the bullet, with no compression, would be max charge.
