Self-Defense Question

After reading through the thread I have yet to see anyone who is even remotely "looking for a fight". It has been said, multiple times here, that people are doing their utmost to avoid hotspots. Going out of their way when possible to not get anywhere near areas that may have rioters. But sadly, some of the men here have jobs, and those jobs >may< take them to places they otherwise would choose not to go. To top that off, criminal rioters generally don't advertise where they are going to start their mess. So aside from staying at home and hiding, all we can do is avoid places where we can, and prepare for the worst. If you preparing for the worst comes across as "Going too heavy" for some...then good...it means you have accepted the fact that when/if something comes about you have thought ahead to maximize your already crappy situation.

I sure as hell ain't looking for a fight. However I'd love to collect a few ears, that is if I can stay conscious.
 
I just heard bus loads of agitators are coming into Archdale. Any truth to that.

I just heard something on the Charlotte scanner mentioning Archdale... I did not get the entire transmission though...

If you have a cell phone, load a free scanner app and use it to monitor local channels. I use "911 Scanner"... It is free and has a ton of pre-programmed frequencies from all 50 states

They likely have cleared from the early afternoon “session” but that don’t mean the cockroaches won’t try it again tonight ... tomorrow ... anytime the wind blows. For the 2 mile or so stretch of 147 that encompasses the Courthouse and ballpark I’d not plan on going thru there for quite some time.

Please, stay safe folks..tell your lady folks to Never stop driving. As I tried to convey on page 1, getting through the problem, if you find yourself in a surprise situation is the only problem. What happens afterward shouldn't even be in your thought process at that time.

Problem one is to get to safety...all else pales in comparison. As I have said in the past, we can accomadate about 100 people here for an extended period. If you can get here we'll go to the final solution together. Please, keep your families safe. This isn't going to be over quickly.
 
Went to Martinsville today. Rode right thru the section of town that is predominately black. I do it every time I'm up there. Shortest route to where I'm going. Ole lady was driving. I waved to everyone like I always do. Still guys and gals hanging out at all the corners. No one protested me. No one screamed.

Now would I do that in Charlotte, probably not. They seem a little more agitated down there.

Hillary Clinton is due in court tomorrow... How much of this mess is a distraction from that?? Tonight might get a bit "exciting". Everybody be safe, stay vigilant, and keep checking your six

I too wave when I drive the back roads to FLD range in Warrenton or on the road to Battery Oaks, everyone always friendly.
 
I knew of a couple guys that brought them back. I drank with an old Boatswains Mate that had one & hed get slobbering drunk & pull it out from under his shirt hanging on the chain with his dog tags & go to chewing on it. Lord I loved him like a brother. He could sure fight. I saw him chew a few ears while they were still attached to Jarheads. It was rumored the old boy bit more guys in fights than he ever punched. The short time I knew him that rumor was true.

I wave at everybody I see on those back roads as long as their britches ain't about falling off. In fact I know an old girl in Mcbee... well that's a story that wont be told until my memoirs.

99% of the time if you are polite and amiable to people they are back to you. The few times I’ve had a negative response from a black person was actually younger females ... especially when there is more than 2 or 3. The nicest are the older black ladies ... hold the door for them, help them load a case of bottle water at the grocery store or such and they smile and say thank you and have a nice day. It don’t hurt to be nice ... if you don’t get it returned no biggie just walk away.

As for me, I will keep my happy a$$ near home and live my life...but I have changed up my edc and my ak-v rides shotgun....be nice to everyone, but have a plan to kill them if they try to harm you.

damn what’s going to happen in June.........I want this year to be over!!!!

With all the bad apples getting bussed in it seems it may be prudent in the near future to blow some tires on some charter busses.And go after the owners for domestic terrorism.Just a random thought in my small mind.

Cops are like anyone else, they hear rumors and over react. It doesn't matter how podunk the town you live in is people think chaos and mayhem are lurking around the corner. My kids told me they closed down the Davie county Walmart the other day over looting fears... We live in interesting times folks. I think we should have training, be prepared, and keep our heads on a swivel always. We shouldn't be buying into any hysteria. Panic builds upon itself to almost become a self fulfilling prophecy. I also think part of this issue is people are bored. I always say the women in my family love drama. A family cook out has to have drama. A lot of what i see seems to be an extension of that. I think people like drama. It makes things interesting. Whats that old curse? "May you live in interesting times."

bingo. Everybody want's a little piece of the drama pie. Well, I can't say I didn't ride right thru the middle of town last night to peep what the popo was up to while checking on my nephew who is home alone at age 19 (lol). He and my SIL have upgraded their security perimeter with motion lights and cameras, and a big GSD inside (who is a pussycat) but I still check on them. I may or may not have had my armor and Ar15 pistol on deck lol.
