After I wrote him back complaining that he obviously didn't read my letter if he thought I wrote in support of more gun control, this is what I received.

Looks like you got an automatic form letter reply at first, possibly based on a keyword assessment of your original email. The second on got read by a human... maybe?

Hard to tell where he stands based on two contradictory replies, though the second one does sound more encouraging. How's his voting record?
