I have a shadow 2, obviously lol, that i run in carry optics.
As extra light primer strike assurance i was going to use the extended firing pin in conjunction with the apex trigger kit i have installed.

Gun runs pretty reliable but encountered some light primer strikes with cci primers recently.

I ordered the cz custom ext firing pin.
Just curious if i need to do anything to the firing pin, check anything on it, or run a different spring.

Any info appreciated.

Thanks

I suggest buying and using the RAMI firing pin spring with the extended pin.

Let me add that the Extended firing pin comes with a lighter spring. I bought 2 Shadow 2's around the same time, used the extended pin with light spring in one, and the Extended pin with the Rami in the other, and got much more mileage from the RAMI.

Can you get winchester or federal primers? CCI's are kind of on the harder end when it comes light strikes.

Ah got ya. Yeah i heard about that incident......crazy stuff.
But yeah i suppose a good amount of tricked out uspsa guns are not drop safe

Don’t drop it.

I know almost nothing about the particular pistol mentioned but assume it has a firing pin that does not contact the primer when the hammer is at rest all the way down. If this is so, does an extended firing pin contact the primer when the hammer is at rest all the way down?

For those that do not know: the original CZ 75 did not have a FPB. In the early 90's they added a FPB and designated the pistol the CZ 75B. The P-01's and sp-01's that followed also have the FPB. I think most CZ's designed for LEO/carry roles have FPB's.

Shadow is basically the designation for a lack of FPB. All Shadows lack the firing pin block and are focused on sport shooting and to be used out of an appropriate holster.
The larger framed Tactical Sports and Chechmate also lack the FPB. These are also for sport shooting. Not designed for carrying/combat/tactical use.

In Check Republic competition/sport shooting is very very popular.
