Before I spend the cash on the S15 mags and release; I was hoping to get some feedback on function and reliability. Seems like the bigger names on youtube have only good things to say about them and the regular Joe's are the ones with the issues. I was hoping to outfit my G48 with these. Is it a bad move?
 
I carry a 43X with Shield Arms mags and release daily. I ordered a number of the mags and carry two that have proven themselves reliable over several range trips. Some have reported problems with some of their mags but not others. I haven’t had problems with mine outside of some break-in that was necessary at the beginning.

I found them hard to fully load at the beginning, but break in took care of that, too.
 
I have Shield Arms mags for both a G43 and a G43X. The 15 round G43X mags work perfectly. The G43 mags would hold the slide open after the last round. Shield Arms sent new magazine springs and the problem was corrected. They have good customer service and the springs have a lifetime guarantee.
 
Ok, thanks guys. I'll give them a try then. I always wanted a skinny G19.
 
No experience with shield arms mags. Lots of experience with Glock OEM products with 100% faith in their magazine design and execution. Is it worth risking any measure of reliability for extra capacity? In my world no it’s not. that being said many folks are using these shield arms mags so if they were absolute junk we’d know by now.
 
From what I have read, most of the people who have had problem with those mags have had consistent and repeatable malfunctions due to a tolerance stacking problem.

If you decide to get some give them a good test run. If they don't fail within a couple hundred rounds you probably won't be having any failures related to them.
 
I have 3 of the S15s and one of the Z9s no issues with any of the S15s one of which has over 1K rounds through it and the Z9 functions fine but doesn’t drop free from my gun.
 
I have found these are hit or miss. Have had some with no issues and a couple with issues.
