The doctor confirmed it today, I have spots/clusters of it on my chest, sholder, neck and ear. It wouldn't be that bad if it wasnt for the ear, that one really sucks.
I always thought it was an old people thing, but nope stress, and lack of sleep can bring them on. I told her I deal with that on a daily basis, she said then it looks like its time for a change in my schedule or plan on dealing with it a few times a year.

Had them back in my 30's. Around right side above the belt. They were uncomfortable but not debilitating. Hope your's are a minor case.

Yikes. My wife had them hit while on vacation a couple of weeks ago. She felt great, especially getting them while pregnant. I hope yours are as mild as hers were.

Will not do anything for them, but you don't care.

Hope you clean up soon.

folks, get your shingles shotS.
yes, the new one is a double-shot.
when there is a gout shot, get it, too.

Got my 2nd Shingrix shot last week, hopefully those 2 shots will make me avoid the shingles.

I had the shingles about 5 months ago they are bad I couldnā€™t even stand to wear a shirt lasted 4-6 weeks I feel your pain bro.

I used peppermint essential oil and bergamot essential oil and it held them at bay

Jenny has had them on her back for 3 years They won't go away. In that time they seemed to briefly clear up a little while we were all in tamaflu, but the progress was halted when the meds stopped. That's the only thing that has made any difference. The **one gram** antivirals they gave her didn't do squat.

Had shingles, once, about 15 years ago. It felt like I had pulled a muscle in my back. Not bad, but annoying and nagging for a couple weeks.

Had the first vaccine, got sicker than a dog for about 24 hours. I hope the second is better.

Got to wait till this one is over

I was told you have to wait about 6 months after it clears up before getting the vaccine. Which reminds me I need to schedule my vaccination appointment. I had my first Shingles break out in January at the age of 44.

Yeah, if we cpuld give this crap to the baddies at Guantanamo they would tell you everything you wanted to know.
Back chest and neck suck but it being in and on the ear is absolute hell.

I started to get them about a month ago but figured out what it was pretty quick. Made a doc appointment and she gave me some kind of anti viral meds I think. I never blistered but it felt like a pretty bad sunburn on my side under my arm all the way to my back. I will be getting my shot next doc appointment.

Resurrecting this one.

Wife and mom seem to think that the enormous painful rash encapsulating my torso and arms is shingles. Anybody had the vax? Anything I need to know?

usually, shingles do not "encapsulate".
they choose one side or the other.

If you or a loved one comes down with shingles, do yourself a favor and take a quality CBD oil for the pain treatment. It works.

I've known several people who have dealt with this, and they all say that CBD oil provided them with the best relief.

One challenge though is finding a quality CBD oil. John Lyons (Colorado Hemp Institute) has excellent quality products and you can trust them.

personally, NOTHING alleviates ENOUGH pain
for a Long Enough Period to surpass Oxy.
CBD ain't got a chance, in our opinion.
maybe later, not now.

The Doctors said I could get the shot as long as it was the dead virus. Went and got it Friday. Get 2nd shot 20 Jan 20. I can quit taking my anti shingles meds now and that horse pill will not be missed. It didnā€™t bother me at all, no sore arm.

I got a case across my back/shoulders in my early 30s. I asked the doc why i had an outbreak so young, and she said she was recently seeing teens get them. There's something weird going on.
Then again, I think i had chicken pox 2-3 times when I was a kid, which is just not normal. Maybe my immune system just has a hard time with that particular virus.

Mine said the same thing and that they are finding that they can be stress related, and other factors like poor diet and lack of sleep can compound the issue

I was at one of the worst points in my grad studies - I had bad diet, very little sleep, and HIGH stress...
I can believe it.

I had them when I was about 25. Just a small cluster of blisters on my side. Itched a bit, but nothing more thankfully.

I worked with a guy who had a bad case a few years ago. It spread to his face and actually made it into his eye. He had to see the doctor and optometrist three times a week to try to prevent him going blind.

Resurrecting this thread. My second of two Shingrix vaccines yesterday. With the first one I had some arm soreness and redness at the injection site. During the day yesterday my arm was sore until last night. About 8:30 last night I started having fatigue, headache, shivering, fever and nausea. According to the VIS these develop "in more than half of people of receive recombinant shingles vaccine." Side effects can last 2-3 days. Feeling better this morning but not 100%. I'd still rather go through that than the shingles again.

Wow, I am hopeful for your speedy recovery.

I was told the shot was only covered for folks over 60. I waited and was lucky enough to have not gotten it. I have a few folks from church who recently were afflicted though. Even had a couple guys who worked for me get it while we were in Iraq. That musta sucked wearing a flight suit with those sores!

I was lucky!

My Provider wanted me to have it once I fully recovered from the shingles (had it over a year ago at age 47). Cost covered by Occupational Health through my employer. Feeling back to my usual self today.
