Any of you guys use good quality non prescription shooting glasses? Is there any diff between the 1.50 pair or say even the 7 dollar pair at dicks or some good quality more expensive ones? I seem to be noticing my dry fire with no glasses appears to be easier focussing on the sight etc than live fire at the range with my glasses on. Was curious if its just because of cheap plastic or what? If so, what do you all use?

I use a pair I bought at a celebrity auction. They don't actually do much for my accuracy but I sure look cool.

Got a remington set with different lenses that can be changed out

IMO, it makes a huge difference, depending on the sensitivity of your eyes.

I really like the Oakley prism lenses ($$$) and the ESS hi def lenses (cheaper). Both makers (actually same company I think) have glasses with super thin ear pieces which allow muffs to seal way better and do not develop a painful pressure point at your temples. I think it's worth it to spend a little more cash for glasses specifically designed for shooting.

I can't think of two more important things to protect when one is shooting...your eyes and your ears. Don't really get many second chances to fix them if something goes wrong.

For me it is worth spending some extra money to get quality shooting glasses and ear pro.

And to answer your question my wife and I wear Wiley X for eyes because we look like total operators :D

Hands down Hunters HD Golds are the best on the market. If you want to try some you are more than welcome! I have tried several other brands but nothing even comes close to comparing with them. They are super crisp and clear. They also adjust for the lighting conditions and help with the contrasts in the background.

I have had one of those Oakley 3 lens kits (clear, gray, yellow) for several years now and have only used the clear lens. I used to think they were the greatest glasses. However, a month ago I noticed the gray and yellow lenses had developed a thick line across them where they come in contact with the case dividers. Won't come off completely either. The clear lens has it, but very faint and it gives a slight blur effect looking through it.

I was also surprised how easily the lens got scratches in it. Of course, it was from 9mm casings hitting them while my G17 had a extractor issue. :D

I like the Smith optics aegis arc glasses. The field kit comes with clear & tinted lenses and a storage case.

Oakley Alpha M-Frames with different lenses.

Wiley X are good frames, lenses.

However, my shooting glasses are a pair of Dragon transition Rx glasses. I still haven't ponied up for a nice pair of Wiley X with Rx. Rx sunglasses of quality are $$$$$$.

I was recently going to get a pair of Oakley Half-Jacket 2.0 with Rx but I just couldn't stomach the price tag. Even after my insurance covered the frames it was going to be $330. Wiley X is about the same.

Ouch. Now I'm a little concerned about the cost coming out of my optometrist appointment next week, lol!
