My lord getting old sucks! Has anyone else here had one? I go to Dr. Wednesday so I'm sure I'm going to be sick hearing about it.

No but I feel your pain. I'll be lucky if I make it another 5 years without one. Been dodging and delaying it for 20.

I had Major reconstruction about 11 years ago and last summer I started getting sore. I just played it off in December got a steroid shot in shoulder and it worked until April. So I figure a second shot might head it off, nope. So now they are sending me to the replacement Dr and in the past week my shoulder muscles have started twitching on top of pain. I guess from chronic fatigue.

@Cowboy that looks painful. :eek:

What happened to cause it? I know it wasn't job related as paper and pencil pushing isn't that strenuous. ;)

I had a sports related injury about 16 years ago. Something called batters shoulder. Back Hand slipped off bat and the bat's momentum dislocated my shoulder and tore the rotator cuff, then when it slammed back together it shot my humerus through my labrum tearing it. I waited 4 years to have it fixed and it caused all kinds of damage.

It looks like they have many different variations of the prosthetics. Which style they choose is based on your issue.

My BIL is a big whig guy in that world. When my brother had his hip replacement he was explaining how good they have gotten in the last 20 years with hips, knees and shoulders. I’ve had some plumbing work done so hope to avoid messing with any extremities.

Yeah we have a friend who's company sells the prosthetics. I may have to reach out to him about how all this works.

I am in the same boat. I have had Drs telling me for 10+ years that I need replacement. I have gotten a lot worse in the last 5-6 months to the point it hurts 24-7 and can pretty much do nothing with my left shoulder and range of motion has dropped to almost zero.

I have a good friend in Charlotte that had his done (reverse shoulder replacement) about a year ago and he is coming along good and is trying to talk me into coming down to his Dr.
