I have mine piled up against the retaining wall out in the weather. I feel like my handles take a beating from the sun/rain and it’s taking years off their life. I don’t really want them inside my basement. I try to keep it as clean as possible and don’t like clutter. What do y’all have? 3A5F8DEE-73F6-4951-A3BE-8BF07F6D513C.jpeg

I bought one of the hanger kits with like a s hook they hang in and not overly impressed with those so dont go that route. I have seen a trash can used you just stick handles down in. Have also seen a pallet standing on end used. But think something like the below would be more useful at not getting them cluttered.

I have nothing but multiple 12 gallon storage containers and leaning to a wall. But the plan is to make a floor up rack with pvc and 2x4s I saw somewhere. Also saw a small wood reel with holes around it, three circle deep. You could put a black iron pipe down the center hole of the reel, add a wood top, and add a shower curtain outside of the reel.

Ive got some things that the handles 'clip' into...but nowhere near as much as you have, so I cant help much.
but I think the idea above is probably best since you dont want it in house/garage

I used tapcons to anchor a few 2x4's to the wall, then pounded 2 nails in to hold each tool.
This is what I did when I had a building. Since we built our house I haven’t got my building up yet

I don't see where a solution was settled on.

Here's mine:

Step 1: Through all your wife's cr*p out of your tool space.

Step 2: Put all your shovels, rakes, and whatnot in your tool space where they belong.

There are all kinds of hangers out there to choose from. Go to Amazon and search "shovel hangers".

Haha. Fortunately none of my wife’s stuff is in the shop side of the basement. It’s ALL my crap. My OCD doesn’t mix well with my hoarder side 😂. I like all my junk to be organized. I’m in the middle of rearranging it now. I have a 55 gallon plastic drum I’m going to turn into the yard tool storage for now, at least until I get my other shop built.

If you use a large garbage can or 55-gal drum outside, be sure to drill some drain holes & elevate the base on PT 2x4s or bricks, something to allow drainage after rain.

This thread is useful! I've got a 33-gal trash can in a storage shed, stick the handles in. It's not ideal, to say the least. Disorganized, they somehow manage to get hung up on each other (??), and it's a great way to nick your hand or skin your knuckles when the landscape rake shifts as you're pulling out a shovel...

Might be time to upgrade to PVC & 2x4 racks.
