I think that's the equivalent of the Glock cruciform. Drops down when the trigger is pulled and allows the striker to move forward under spring pressure.

Seems like a bad test IMO since it’s only one gun.

Would it not have been better to test 100 guns for 1000 rounds each?

If they ran 100 guns for 1000 rounds each they would most likely not see any failures unless something is very wrong. You need high round counts to really learn anything.

True, but 100,000 is overkill and you still only have a single gun’s performance tested, a poor sampling of the p365. How many owners do you think shoot at least 1000 rounds through their carry? I’ve found if you are going to have issues with a new gun they will emerge within the first few hundred rounds and if you have 100 guns pass the 1k test I’d say sig is making an excellent product out of the box.

That they sold over the counter for $100k, plus 28+ hours of range time and gun rental (assuming nothing but mag dumps with a dedicated loader) through a $500 pistol.

I'm in the wrong line of work.

I can see being curious about how many rounds a full sized gun would last but I can't imagine I'd ever wear out anything Glock 26 sized or smaller.

I have 1080 through my 43x, 500 through my 43, and 59 through the Shield...much more work to do I guess.
