I bought a NIB P320 (X5 Legion) about a month ago. Ran a couple hundred rounds of factory ammo through it with no trouble, then started getting failure to go into battery after every shot. Cost me bigly at the 3-Gun last week.

All factory ammo. Different magazines used A couple different shooters all with the same problem. So, back to the mothership it goes.

Wait time to talk to a real person was less than 5 minutes. A couple minutes on the phone and I had a shipping label in my email.

Shipped Weds. They received it Friday at 1100. I got an email at 1430 with a pack list and tracking number showing what appears to be a brand new gun on the way back to me.

Whaddya think the chances are that I’m actually getting a *new* replacement? Or do you think I’m getting someone else’s refurb?

This failure to return to battery seems to be fairly common, so maybe they know enough to just go ahead and replace when they get a lemon?

Thoughts?

Oh Ye of little Faith...............................................................why not just wait and see? Hope springs eternal.

No, I am betting it is a new gun. I have had good luck with Sig both times I used their CS.

I would really want to know what went wrong, what they fixed, if it was another one of those voluntary upgrades, and then I'd want to put another few hundred rounds through the new one to see if that has the same problem.
And then I'd still feel funny about trusting it down the road...

I sent a Sig M-11 a1 back to them. I had a tracking label with the parts included suggesting that it was a new gun also. Nope dice, same gun but they did fix the problem so I’m still good with that.

For me, this is strictly a gaming piece. Only risk I have is finishing bottom instead of mid pack.

Similar good experiences with Sig CS here. They sent me a brand new and upgraded model when I sent back a 226 over something that was really quite trivial.

The best customer service is guns that work out of the box. It’s great that companies stand by their products, but make, test and sell good product the first time.

Outstanding customer service is the result of years of experience. Ask Hi Point.

I’m in the camp that says anytime you manufacture a mass market item there will be issues. So, for me, it’s all about how you react and rectify that matters.

Of course, that requires an overall commitment to quality and improvement.

Apparently, I’m too manly.

But, less than a week door to door is pretty good!3967F260-367F-4AC4-90AB-6F38D76E2B96.jpeg

In thinking about this, with the XD(m) that I've run for the last ~10 years, If I slam home the magazine change the slide will drop. That's never caused a problem and was described as a feature to me when I inquired a long time ago. I guess I'll need to change it up.

M&Ps had this feature too. I’ve had to concentrate on my mag changes since migrating from that platform
