I have a sig p229 40 on layaway it will be my 1st sig. I am a 1911 person any opinions/things to watch for

I have a pristine one, in the box, that's fired less than 30 rounds, in the box. I'm planning on taking to the gun show today to sell.

If it doesn't have a short reset trigger, get one, it changes the entire character of the gun

I love Sig Classics. They fit my hands so well and I love the triggers. Never tried the short reset setup but I hear it is great, as mentioned. Give yourself a little time to get used to the platform. They have some of the best DA/SA triggers I've felt, but nothing really compares to a good 1911 trigger.

When you get it plan to spend a lot of time practicing that first + second shot to get used to the DA/SA trigger.

This was one of my biggest issues with a sig. CZ DA/SA wasn't a huge deal, but the Sig was. It was enough *for me* not to use it as a carry weapon.

They shoot great, and I want another P228 something fierce, it's on my short list of handguns.
