Looking at adding a red dot on my carry gun, I carry a Glock 20. I have the DPP on a G34 that I use in competition, so far (5K rounds) everything is working great with it. Just looking at options.

A DPP for my G34 should arrive any day, I'm curious to hear the comparison.
Edit: It just arrived :D

Of those two choices, I would certainly go with the DPP. The Romeo wouldn’t even be an option for anything I was going to use seriously. They’d be okay for a range gun I suppose, but IMO the only 2 optics that should be considered on a carry gun would be an RMR or DPP.

I agree with Derek. Delta Point or Triji would be my only options. I've had 4 RMR's and a couple I used and abused pretty harshly, and never a problem.

Forgot to add, I have 2 RMRs and a DPP all three have seen several thousand rounds and been ran pretty hard. They’re tough optics for sure.

Arron Cowan does quite a bit of testing in optics and specifically MRDS. He is one of the most objective “reviewers” on YouTube that I have found and generally trust his reviews/advise.

So, is the consensus (for an EDC weapon) to go with an RMR or DPP ? No vortex ? I'm not trying to start anything, just fill my "ignorance gap".
Just asking, I don't have a dog in the fight. I'm probably looking at trying my first pistol RDS this summer.
Sorry if I hijacked the thread topic, but it seems pretty unanimous in favor of the DPP over the Romeo.
Thanks!!

I can only speak for myself, but yes, those are the only two optics that I would consider for carry right now. The guy in the video I posted has reviews on just about all of the MRDS on the market. Check out his videos and he’ll probably have some good information that could help you in your selection.

X2 for me, only RMR or DPP for a edc. I've watched and witnessed a few different brands failing when not even punished or pushed hard. I've been running RMR's for around 5 years, and have never had a issue. I've even used a RMR/Glock 19 slide as a hammer to knock some nails in a torn up target stand. Guys didn't have a hammer, so I pulled the slide off, drove in some nails, and put it back on the frame. Guy said no way it would still hold zero. So I handed it to one and he rang steel out at 30 yards like a boss.
Still run that RMR on my edc 19 as of today.
