I purchased a YHM R9 back on January 13th when they showed back up in stock from the silencer shop. It is still showing ”awaiting assignment” when I check the order online. I tried calling a couple times but never got through. They finally answered an email a few days ago saying the suppressor was on back order and they would ship to my local dealer when it arrives. Is this normal? I was under the impression they only listed items online when they had them.
 
Do you have a serial number assigned yet? If not, then they probably pre-sold a can to you and are waiting for it to be received. Once received, they’ll assign you a can with a s/n then submit your F4 paperwork.

If you do have a s/n assigned, they’re just shipping it to your local FFL.

I’m guessing it’s the first scenario though. I ran into the same thing with my Mask once upon a time through SS.... took a little longer than if it was physically in the inventory, but no complaints

I’m pretty sure they just presold a can they had on order. It said ”in stock” when I ordered it but there is no serial number assigned to it when I check.

SS did the same thing with my Mask .22. In the end, it didn’t alter the timing of my approval significantly. I bought a YHM a couple weeks before the Mask and both stamps arrived at the same time to my shop. Just keep an eye on the s/n issuance. That’s what matters for the F4 submission. Without a s/n, you’re wait doesn’t start.

I‘m hopeful to join the waiting for a R9 soon too!

I also bought a R9 from Silencer Shop on 1/13/2021. Mine has already arrived at the dealer and the form 4 has been submitted.

I suspect that too many people purchased at once and they ran out of stock before they got to your order. That likely means you are on the back order list.

That is what I was afraid of.
 
I am in the same boat and CS told me that they are waiting on the shipment from YHM with no ETA. That leads me to believe they oversold but are trying to honor them
 
Finally got an email from SS with a serial number assigned today for the R9. I'm guessing they still don't have it in hand yet. At least I'm getting closer to submitting.
 
Once the s/n issued, it should get submitted.

So did @Bocephus and I today. I bought my stamp and they've already generated my one shot trust info. Just docusigned everything so hopefully they mail it like tomorrow.
