Site running slow???

Is the server(s) on an automated reboot schedule? An off peak scheduled reboot seems like it would help.
The problem is actually with the database. We get a set amount of credits before being throttled. So when I runs slow I reboot, change instance type, then change it back. This is only until I can move us to the new AWS servers.

When will the move happen?

Have you considered moving away from Amazon?

Check out Linode. You could get a server big enough to run the site for less then $20 per month with 3 terabytes of data transfer allocation.

Made a few tweaks till we can move the db and web server off the same machine.

I dont know if this is related, but last night when I clicked 'new posts' the new posts were not in chronological order, it was odd.
SO I come back this morning, hit it again and see lots of threads that were not shown to me last night (but were updated before I logged on last night)

Still love this place so much.

There were database locks and resource exhausted. I added more horsepower

Still slow here also,

I'm not showing any errors messages or database contention. Any specific part of the forum?

Not sure about others, but at this moment things are slow to load
ie: if I hit 'like' it'll take about half a minute for it to appear, or if I type this reply out and hit 'post reply' it wont be instant

Yep that's what I was getting, a little better now, but doesn't load instantaneously like usual

Looking much better at the moment

I know there's a thread about it, I didnt read all 3 pages. I also see people fussing in chat, and I've been dealing with it for a good while.... Why is the site so dang slow? Has an answer been posted?

3:50pm and it seriously took me about 2 minutes for the page to load to make a new topic.

I'm jumping around the site just fine right now. Maybe the mice got tired?

Post #84 & #88 from the other thread

Seems to be a little bit better now then it was about 15 minutes ago. but still seems a little slow. It took a long time before for the page to come up. We have been spoiled

Maybe next time there's a thread discussing your EXACT issue, you'll read it instead of starting a new thread (in the same subforum) so somebody will give you the TL/DR version.

Or at least start at the end and work backwards to see the most recent info.

Seriously dude...

"The site is slow! I know...let's take up the admin's time that could be spent dealing with the actual issue so they can reply to ME and say exactly the same thing I was too lazy to read for myself!"

How did I take up your time?

Sorry I didnt go read all 100 post's....... Dude seriously... you think that's even remotely a reasonable thing to do?

I'm showing page load time from 2-6 seconds per page. Anyone know how to run chrome devtools that can point to whats taking forever to load on your side?

I’m driving all day tomorrow, but I can do this in the evening.

When you posted the 2-6 seconds earlier, I wasn't really having any issues...but at 10:40p, it's SLOOOOOOWWWWWW.

Could you pull up devtools in chrome to see what's taking it so long to load?

All my browsing is on my iPhone and using Safari.

I think I can download Chrome to it, but not sure if devtools is available that way?

But site is cruising along just fine right now.

Not a problem at 3 AM
