Sixshooters Gun Show in Burlington, NC next weekend (7/25-7/26)

Sixshooters will have a gun show in Burlington this weekend at the Burlington Shrine Club (904 Plantation Drive, Burlington, NC 27215). It has been a number of years since Burlington had a gun show.

We plan on being there. Anyone else going?
 
Six Shooters had one here last year at the same place and you could go in, turn around slowly and go back out basically. Smallest show I've ever seen and one of the local pawn shops were setting up there with record high prices. I did meet one dealer from Burlington that had pretty good prices and I think it was his first show. We need a bigger building and more dealers. I may venture in. At least you don't have to pay to park.

Didn't know that they'd already had one there. I was thinking of the C&E show back in 2008 or 2009.
 
I may go. I have a couple of things I am interested in and who knows....it might be there. Hopefully they will find a much bigger building soon and more vendors.
 
I know of a few guys including myself that are planning on going.
I figure that it won’t grow without support.

I missed a chance at the show they had in Edenton (I think it was) a few weeks ago. Didn't see the sign for it till it was almost over. They need to advertise more. I would have gone had I seen it in time.

He advertises more than C&E. He does radio spots and puts out hundreds of signs in a 40-50 mile radius from the show. Not that he couldn’t do more, but he has been running shows less than a year. He is doing well Under the circumstances.

Yeah it is probably due more to my not getting out as much since the accident. When I was working I saw S&D signs all the time. Not sure how soon he is putting the signs out but I didn't see this one till the last day of the show. I get emails from S&D about their shows but I signup for that at a show so maybe if I get to one they will have that option also.

Depends on the show, but many of his signs go up in the several days preceding the show.

Then he might want to rethink that and put them out about 2 weeks ahead of a show. I always needed a little heads up so I could plan my time to make it to a show. Would really like to go to one of his and see how it shapes up.

Some do go up a couple weeks ahead of time, but more go up that week in addition to the ones that went up earlier.

Then there are the signs that "disappear." That is actually a pretty big problem.

LOL. It is actually pretty common for promoters' signs to be taken down. Might be by anti-gun people. Might be a rival promoter. Might be someone with a beef with that particular promoter.
 
What are the hours? I have to ride up there Saturday to pick up something from a member anyways. Might as well stop in

Okay. About 65 tables. Three FFL dealers so far. One private guy who has a lot of guns, some ammo, and surplus. He used to have a gun shop. He also has 2018 dates MREs.

Two ammo dealers. Another private guy who has surplus guns, ammo, lots of different magazines, bayonets, etc.

Also a kydex holster maker, concealed carry purse dealer who also sells Sticky holsters and peanuts. And, several tables not set up yet.

Lots of 9mm and 5.56 Ammo, but it is spendy. Several ARs. For its size, not a bad little show.
 
Steve, please keep us posted how things are looking tomorrow at end of day, I might come Sunday.
Im curious prices of the MREs and what people are charging for ammo

MRE's $10 each or $100 per case. 5.56 ammo $775 I believe per 1,000. Seems like it was the TAP ammo.

Cheapest I saw bulk .223 was $600 per thousand for PMC .223. Lots of folks Vocally lamenting not buying stuff a few months ago.

I am heading that way, if nothing more than to kill a Sunday away from this hot home and yard work.
Plus gives me a chance to go to the Saxaphaw General Store

One Winchester Garand. We picked up an IHC, but don’t have it out. If you come by, just ask to see it and we’ll get it out.

Not a lot of leverguns of any kind.
 
Went today, saw Steve - great guy as always.

Small show..SMALL.
I did get a solid deal on some 223 ammo. Some TULA, 80 rounds for 10 bucks

Steve I'll post up food pics later from the gas station, she loved it
 
Saxapaha General Store has killer grub & that beer selection.... The duck fries & the house hot sauce...

Shoot. Now I'm hungry. Lol! I know more than a few of us love that place. Best gas station food anywhere :D

posted in the dinner thread, we actually got a side of duck fries and they werent what we expected but we enjoyed them
