Slide fire stocks are selling

Went to see my gun dealer today and people were calling and coming in wanting them. He sold out in 15 minutes. I never liked them and never shot with one.

I ordered a fn509 yesterday and there was one bump fire stock left and it sold before I left.

Nope.

They seem just as dumb to me AFTER Vegas as they did before Vegas.

However, I have no problem with panic buying....
I'd rather have people panic buying slide fires than .22lr....

It seemed like such a gimmicky, useless, novelty product from the beginning. Aside from principal, I couldn't care less if they get banned by the ATF.

I feel the same way.

If they are able to ban this, that sets the precedent for banning particulars of firearms used in subsequent mass murders, whether it's drum mags, 60rd mags, suppressors, fast aftermarket triggers like Geissele, or implementing some of the requirements imposed on AR's in states like NY or CA - bullet buttons, fixed magazines, etc.

They’ll be sacrificed because something must be sacrificed. It isn’t right, but it is what it is.

My son has a Fostech Echo Trigger on one of his AR's. He wasn't sure about it at first but after shooting it a few times he really likes it. I'm sure these will be on the ban wagon too.

unbelievable

I wish I had half a dozen of them

I can confirm that people pay stupid money for stuff if they think they won't be able to get it again.

During the major run on 22 just for fun I posted a brick of federal bulk pack, starting bid was 1 penny, no reserve, free shipping and ran a 24 hour auction. It sold for $131... a single 525 round brick... Yeah, I sold some more after that, the same way just out of pure amazement.

That's outrageous! I give two bricks for that price. ;)

If slide fire stocks are banned will previous bought units be allowed on guns legally?

My dad bought two of these a couple years ago for this very reason. I guess he's gonna want me to list them. Ugh.

Think I found my answer on the news this morning. Diane Feinstein is introducing legislation to ban slide fire stocks and make it unlawful to have possession. The news stated they think a number of republicans will vote with her.

I'm pretty sure I read that, as soon as the legislation is signed, she's planning on personally going house-to-house to confiscate them. Make up the spare bedroom.

:D

This is one thing where they want to ban it and it doesn't make me want to buy one.

There are enough (R)s that will cave that this will happen... and given the ignorance of the general public, it would probably be political suicide to oppose it vehemently... what is needed is to compromise on this with specific 2A compromises... OK, go ahead and ban the bump stocks and slide fire stocks, the assisted triggers and trigger cranks... in return, drop the class 3 requirements from suppressors, and pass universal carry legislation.

I posted this on another board, and it seems appropriate to post here...

I heard yesterday Senator Bob Corker making the statement that he had never heard of a "Bump Stock"... that he didn't know what that was...

here is an idea... require these senators on the committee that first considers this legislation to go to a shooting range with a qualified instructor and see first hand what they are legislating on... give them the opportunity to fire a weapon with a bump stock on it... let them fire a weapon with a trigger assist... let them fire a full auto M4.... let them hear what a rifle fired with and without suppression sounds like... using both standard and sub-sonic ammo... make this field trip available to ANY congresscritter that wants to attend... THEN AND ONLY THEN will they be qualified to vote on legislation.

If I had one I’d be selling. I don’t know that they’ll try to confiscate them, but I’m not interested in owning one and it looks like now is the time to maximize value. Of course others probably think they’ll be grandfathered and appreciate like select fire weapons have.

I don’t know that ythey’ll go after anything but the bumpers, that’s the buzz word.

Just goes to show it's the person, not the tool. There must be many thousands of these bumpfire stocks in the wild, to say nothing of the billions of rubber bands. It wasn't until a psychopath came along that this tool was used for murder.

And if we're going to ban tools, we need to look at trucks - the Nice jihadist killed more people with his truck than the Vegas shooter did with all his guns, bumpfire stocks, vantage point and exquisite planning.

According to the FBI annual crime statistics, the number of murders committed annually with hammers and clubs far outnumbers the number of murders committed with a rifle.

Senator Diane Feinstein is doing her part to sell out every single bumpfire stock in every dealer's inventory. She is introducing a bill to ban bumpfire stocks.
Her "Prevention Act" will only work on law abiding citizens, you can not legislate what is inside the mind of an individual who wants to kill people.

I recall Cheaper than dirt was selling .that 22 box of ammo for $299

I don't want one, have fired full auto at meet and greets, you can rent full auto at a range.

I prefer quality vs quantity.

Maybe I'll get a 3D printer and make a batch. :):)
