Anybody been? Gonna try to wade out tomorrow and see what I can pull up. Apparently it’s a secret that there’s smallmouth this far south, I’ve caught large and stripped so this will be a new endeavor. Gonna take my 9wt and try from there.

Where on the Uwharrie?

I’m gonna try Low Water Bridge in Troy. No kayak this time. It’s almost gonna be more of a scouting mission than anything else. If it’s productive I’m gonna plan a day float if I can find someone to go with me.
I've caught several fish at LWB. There is another spot up stream from there with an older looking iron bridge that's good also.

LWB on low water bridge Rd?

Yep that’s where I was gonna go to.
There's only about a million low water bridges in the area. I'll ask people if they have been and they'll say yeah over in randleman? Or over in ramseur? So thats why I asked and you said Troy it's really not in Troy it's more like Ophir.

Anywhere from 109 up stream is fairly good. They are small but they’re there. There’s also spotted bass and some robins that are fun to catch too.

Good luck if you go. I haven’t caught smallies since we used to net helgermites and catch them on the patomac. Damn those suckers can fight.

Isaac Walton said it first. Only thing I have fought in freshwater that is close is salmon. Northern pike are right behind. Especially when they get big. Then again the blue heron I got once was a son of a bitch.

Holler when you're going and maybe I'll break loose for a while....

She’s blown out, chocolate milk and flowing fast.

With all this rain, makes sense.

The wife and I planned to go up to Blowing Rock for Art in the Park and then do some hiking. Too much rain today and over the past weeks killed that. Some forrest roads are closed and the trail we wanted to go on is under water in a lot of spots.

Rain killed that so now it's icemaker repair day, tree trimming day and MI5 day.

ya I was gonna say man...might want to hold off a week. Wettest August I can remember and Badin area has been getting hammered. I hope for an early fall
It was worth the trip. Atleast I know exactly what I’m getting myself into when it clears up. I just went to my pond caught a couple panfish and a few bass. That’ll hold me over for a couple hours.
