My old scale crapped out so I replaced it with a smart scale. They're pretty neat and sync with the fitbit app.

That's the good news. The bad news is I'm far worse off than I realized.

It says My BMI is high, ditto body fat visceral fat, and subcutaneous fat.

bone mass is low as well as BMR and it says my metabolic age is 62. (I'm 55)

Also says my protein levels are super low.

I've been hitting the gym 3 days a week doing cardio in the pool for the last 9 months and thought I was doing good. Imagine how bad I must have been before.

Has anyone else started using one of the doom predictors?

Fitbit. I laugh when ever I see one. Had a friend who has one and she forgot to put it on one day. Got home that evening and found out how many calories she had burned while it sat on the counter all day.

You'll burn calories if you are in a coma. I imagine it is set for a minimum even without movement.

My understanding is none of them are really accurate. If they measure right the electrical pulse mostly goes up one leg and down the other. May or may not actually measure the torso where it counts. I did some digging when I thought I wanted one and then went with a regular scale.
