I am self-admittedly a Smith & Wesson fanboy no doubt about it my 3 carry guns are all Smith & Wesson Shield, M&P 2.0 compact, and The Bodyguard 380. My question is do you think Smith & Wesson will be coming out with their own version of the p365 anytime soon I'm contemplating whether I should buy that gun or wait it out for the Smith & Wesson version thoughts?

Right now I would stick with the Shield with all the problems Sig is having with the p365. Wait until they shake out and then take a look at it.

The compact grew from 3.5" in their original line to 4.0" in their 2.0 line... so this does leave a gap for a 3" barrel on a double stack.

I think it would cause a lot of 2.0c owners to gripe & complain as they buy it, but they'd still buy it. I probably would at least (Though I kept my 1.0c over the 2.0c).

I carry a G43 and briefly owned a P365. While the P365's capacity is indeed impressive I find their grip dimensions to be somewhat peculiar. It's like the grip is too small. How they managed that with that capacity I don't know.

If someone else comes up with a high capacity subcompact pea shooter I hope they don't copy Sig.

I've had the shield and G43 (twice!) and don't have them anymore...I now have 2 P365's. I shoot the P365 better than either of those two guns and it is smaller than both of them. I have small hands so the grip is fine for me.

I can put the 365 in my pocket much more easily.

As for the "issues" I've been happy with mine with several hundred rounds without any problems.

I still have my Kahr CM9 for some reason (lighter than the sig simply due to lower capacity I think).

Do you "need" it? Absolutely not....

Might you like it better than what you have? Absolutely maybe....

My son owned a P365 for a short time and sold it because the grip was unsatisfactory in his hand. My son and I both had Shields and the entire backstrap of Shields touched our hands, but only the top half of the P365 backstrap touched our hands. The P365 grip felt very strange in my hand.

Like all guns, the P365 either works for you or it doesn't.

Over on the blue forum, plenty of 2.0c 4" owners are already griping about the newer 3.6" version. First I've seen guys complain about having an extra 0.4 inches of length.

I've seen one of the 2.0 s that has a noisy click when this slide stop is pushed off. That ain't supposed to happen.
Impossible, everybody knows only Sig lets defective guns leave the factory. ;)

Darn it! I didn't know they put out a 3.6" 2.0c. I didn't like the idea of a 4" compact so I kept my 3.5" 1.0c. Hmmmm... lol

That's not true, everyone makes mistakes. Sig just makes a lot more than anyone else. *duck n run*

I bought the P365 from Fieldgrade, and it fits my hand better than anything I've tried; like it was made for me. You just cannot make a decision about a handgun without holding an example of it. I love the little guy (the P365 not Fieldgrade - though he is OK :D) and I've had no problems with it. If there are any down the road I will persevere with it.

I own full size M&Ps, Shields and a 365. The Sig is definitely now my preferred EDC over the Shield. I don’t see S&W coming out with their version of it, but who knows?

My Shield now sits in my safe. I am enjoying the P365 as my "gotta run to the store/pocket carry" option. Mine was made late March and has around 800 rounds through it with no problems. Now I have to decide on whether or not I should sell my Shield or hand it down to my daughter as she moves into her first place on her own. lol

What kind of holster for pocket carry?

Right now I am using Vedders Pocket Locker. It does the job but I am looking around to see if I can find something that is not as rigid.

Was curious because I pocket carry a bodyguard380 in a sticky holster and it is great, I wonder how the 365 would conceal and feel in a sticky.

I actually considered a sticky holster and it looks like I will be picking one up in the near future. I had one for a Walther PPS M2 and I wasn't too fond of it.

Big part of the reason I'm comfortable with it is because of the really long deliberate trigger pull of the bg380. Makes me feel much safer carrying pocket with one in the chamber. I think with the 365 I might want plastic around that trigger with the shorter typical striker fired trigger.

In that regard the Vedder is great. I too prefer to carry with one in the chamber and there are no worries with that setup.
