I bought three sets of grips yesterday.

All three are K-Frame square butt.

I'm trying to figure out what the white/yellow/beige-ish set is.

It looks like it is probably some kind of synthetic? Those circles on the insides with a little shaft cut off is where they were poured right?

Anybody know anything about these? Factory option? Aftermarket?

Thanks
Bill

The material used in the faux Ivory is a polymer mixture called ivorex. It will actually darken over time just like real ivory. It's fairly durable but do not over tighten the grip screw as you can crack the grip if you do..Cheap way to "pimp"out your Sqare butt k frame Smith. They were made by several companies. Ajax is one that comes to mind.

What the above say. S&W sent some J Frames out with those but I can't remember any Ks off hand. The really good ones were made by Melvin Tyler back in the 1900s. Mid 80s. They were made from linen micarta and will turn almost orange...beautiful. Tougher than woodpecker lips.

Never seen one of those.

When you have a moment, would you post of photo of your gun with woodpecker lip grips?

Tyler's Tru-fit and Tru Ivory were a couple others. Those also look a lot like Altamont Bonded Ivory Classic Panels. You can add the medallion for $10 I think.
