I'm old but there are still a lot of things that I haven't seen. I can cross one more off the list. Yesterday, I saw my first Smith & Wesson Straight Line pistol. This thing was in amazing condition, complete with it's metal box and all accessories, including paperwork.
It is a single shot .22 LR. The action pivots to the side for loading. The paperwork says it has a target chamber. You push the cartridge as far you can and when you close the action it pushes the bullet farther until the bullet is in contact with bore.
The paperwork said the the sights are adjustable for elevation and windage. 10 revolutions of the screw moves the impact 1 inch at 25 yards (I think). That's 1/10 inch per turn! I'm guessing that it doesn't need a lot of adjustment.
The one I saw was in like new condition and I can only imagine how it shoots. The photo below is not the one I saw but just like it. I was too overwhelmed to think to take a picture.
