Yeah I'm one of those mandatory employees as well. I keep seeing 14.5 inches in statesville so I'm gonna say 7 inches if we get anything accumulation at all.

Reidsville here, we got some sprinklings of snow yesterday at lunch so I suspect I'll be walking to work this weekend. Fortunately it's only half a mile.

I'm seeing anywhere from 6-12" for Durham. I predict 2" of snow plus significant sleet/frozen rain. Streets will be 90% clear by Monday but schools will be closed anyway.

Charlotte - the best app I have is calling for ~4" accumulation on Monday morning with high temperatures in the mid 30's for the next couple days.

Panovich is about the only meteorologist I trust, he's saying 1-4" of wintry mix ending with snow over the weekend. I just stacked a cord of hickory and oak split so if the power goes out, I get to roast marshmallows.

I predict NC DOT dumps 1.6 million gallons of brine on 24/27 from CLT to Albemarle, and the ensuing rain washes it all into the Rocky river, enhancing the glowing radioactive property and PCB content of the native fish population. It happens every year, we start out with a couple inches of rain before the cold air settles in and makes sno-cones.

Prediction: no more than 3" of slushy accumulation exaggerated to 9"
Preps: Try not to get aggravated to the point of hostility by morons that deal with this stuff every year and should have a better understanding. Will do this 12 hours a day for 3-4 days, one of which will involve maintaining trucks spreading salt and pushing, followed by three days of trying to push the paint off the road because perception is more important than reality which will break lots of equipment and destroy stuff.

I predict that our traffic problems won't be any worse than it was just the other week with that whopping 6 inches that the northeast got. I thought they knew how to handle a little snow?

Huntersville, I’d guess 5-6”, followed by slush/rain, freezes Sunday night.
Milk & bread sold out Friday.
Schools closed Mon & Tue.

Jerz will be enjoying the first snow in his 18 Tacoma :D

Actually, RD, you didnt have to start it because e had another going already ;)

As for predictions - no dang clue. We'll get something, Im sure of that based on EVERYONE calling for at least an inch (some saying way more).

I know I dont want any of it. I dont want to deal with snow days at all.

Thinking ahead, I needed some cold and flu medicine last night, so I picked up a gallon of milk while I was there - usually get one or two gallons each Sunday, but that might not work out this weekend.
Going to try to get my grocery shopping done early, in case it's as bad as many are saying (6+), also may try to get a front tube for the dirtbike and a battery lol Never ridden in the snow, might be fun!

Speaking of cold medicine, I'll bet there isn't any sudafed or drano to be found here in Montgomery County.

Calling for 8-12" in Greensboro. I think about 6" with a nice .25" of ice on top of that.

well, i think it will be sleet first, snow last.
1/4 inch of sleet with a 5 inches of frosting.

We loaded trucks all day today. And I made 33,000 gallons of salt brine. Gonna start brining tomorrow evening and through the night into Saturday morning

Clemmons

10.5"

I'm guessing the first flakes will fall shortly after supper on Saturday (530 or 6) and will not stop until Monday around lunchtime.
