Here's a blast from the past.
Ended up with three just like this one from a lot bought at an auction. Can find zero info about them. I know "Eastpak" was "East Pak" when they first started out, so I'm guessing these are late 70's/early 80's vintage-sometime after they started making stuff for the commercial market (not just the army) and before the name switch.

Check out that triangular frame. Only other place I've seen one that shape is on vintage Swede army packs.

Model number brings up no good results on Google, unfortunately.

Think I'm going to clean at least one up and use it as a day pack for hiking. They're super light and pretty darn durable considering their age.

Old school!

One step behind my ol' Lowes' Kinnicinac II internal frame pack purchased in 1979!

If it ain't broke, it'll hold yer s$#t!

Old school!

Huh??? That's practically current tech!

We were so poor as kids that I had to carry my great uncles iron-framed pack from WWII on boyscout hikes. thing weighed more empty than most kids full kit. Worst part was also using the old sleeping bag, two layers of cloth and some lumps of what was once insulation. Oh, and you ever try dragging a shelter half around for a few days, that sucked too!

BTW, this was northern IN and southern MI in the winter, also all hikes were uphill, both ways.

Wonder where all that gear is now, I dug a million holes with his old entrenching tool. He passed about 5 yrs ago, I was named after him. He had it bad in the war, lost 4 brothers, and apparently that wasn't the worst part.

Wow that went way off topic, I'll leave it anyway, time to get another cold one.
