So PSA is making a Glock clone starting at $299 (DAGR/Dagger)

Tried to add one to my cart and this popped up:

Description says:

"operated by a smooth single action striker-fired trigger mechanism".

Single-action? The striker is fully spring loaded by racking the slide, and is released by the sear?

That doesn't seem to be very "Glockish", unless PSA is taking liberties with what they call "single action"

Glocks look to me like double-action. I know they labeled it "safe action", but if you are pulling the firing mech backwards before it is released forward... that's double-action.

Indeed, glock is double action.

It's all in the marketing. "safe action" is probably some sort of trademarked thing, "double action" would make people think the trigger was 14 pounds and sucked (perfect for NYC!) so they went with the better sounding but likely technically incorrect "single action".

Out of stock, natch.

What's the actual price? Did they hit the $300 price point?

Replying to myself, they are $300 if you can catch them in stock. 3 other people were trying to hit the web site and some saw in stock and some saw out of stock. sounds like they're having some scaling issues on the web site.

A more practical, if maybe not technically accurate, description would be that a single-action requires the hammer or striker to be cocked before firing a round whereas a double-action fires a round regardless.

You don't have to agree with me but if you disagree with me then I disagree with you. :D

Anyway, anyone have one of these yet?

So... they out there? Anyone see a review of a production gun? All I can find are announcements and pre-production stuff.

From what I understand, the ones snatched up on release day have yet to ship.

Palmetto State Armory - Columbia, SC - For Immediate Release

At Palmetto State Armory we dedicate every working hour to ensure the delivery of quality firearms with a 100% Full Lifetime Warranty and a price that makes them most accessible to law abiding Americans.

We have found inconsistencies in a part arriving from a supplier for the production of the Dagger. While the sample batch we produced prior to mass production both tested well and met our criteria, as we went into full production our team discovered discrepancies in the part we received. That difference meant our standard was not being met.

While we are working with that supplier to correct their issue we do not feel comfortable shipping the first batch until the corrections are made. Anyone who has purchased a Dagger will be offered the chance to hold their place in line and receive a free threaded barrel upgrade or receive a full refund.

We apologize for the delay and we are grateful for your patience as we move forward.

So it's $300..... How many $ of aftermarket parts do you have to put on it to make it as reliable as a Glock?

So they have the ability to deal with pre-orders esentially; would have been nice to just offer that from the beginning. Let me order the damn thing, and when it's ready you ship me one. Put a limit on it and call it good (ie if you don't ship in 12 months, then just cancel it). Better than this "everyone swarm the web site and hope for the best". Added bonus for them, when you know how many people want the product even before you produce it, you have an idea of how much production capacity you might want up front.

People love putting aftermarket parts in glocks to make them less reliable, so an unreliable gun right out of the gate could somehow save those folks some money!

I got some spam from Lone Wolf, something about a facebook something something tomorrow where they announce their own pistol:

Whelp, no challenge from lone wolf: https://guardian.lonewolfdist.com/guardian/

crazy ugly expensive gen 3 glock with a slide mounted safety. pass, and pass.

back to waiting on the PSA vaporware.

What ... the ... f*** ...

edit - Ok seriously, does anyone here look at that and say "Wow, that is exactly what I've been looking for in a Glock"? And if so, why? I'm not looking to attack or belittle, just to understand. Cause right now I got nothing.

First time seeing this atrocity. WTH is that front sight? Side mounted safety looks like a killer too. I wonder if it turns itself on when you tap rack under pressure. I wonder if it turn itself off when you holster in a tight IWB.

Anybody had any issues/failures with theirs so far?

Does anybody actually have one yet? Every time I check they're not available and I've been on the notification list for months. Didn't know if they were actually being produced yet.

I don't think any customers have actually gotten any yet. Apparently PSA found an issue with a part while doing final assembly of the first batch just after they hit the website.
Yeah, hence the emoji

Nope. They never shipped a single one. 90+ days later, crickets.

Supply chain issues right now are a nightmare - I've had a flipping GE dishwasher backordered since July and a catalog color of Trex decking since August that just came in.
Container loads of material stuck at the port for a week waiting for a truck driver to be available, Full train cars in the yard waiting to be unloaded, the list goes on.

If this is something that requires a tooling revision or changing suppliers / materials etc. things will take far longer than normal.
Good things come to those who wait !!!

PSA over-promising and under-delivering? I just can't believe it.

Sarcasm aside, I hope PSA gets it sorted out. I grew up around Columbia, so want to see my hometown shop do well.

What?! How can you pass up safety?

They even have helpful loading guides - ain't no Glock gotta bullet direction indicator!

They just figure that if you are “special” enough to buy one, they will give you guides to use it. Does it say “this end toward you” on the rear cover? I kid, I kid. Honestly I hope they do well and are as popular as the ARs they make. It looks like it will be a decent pistol.

Apparently they sent an email out today (or sometime recently) to everybody that ordered one. At least another 90 days to ship. Keep your place in line and get a free AR lower, or give it up and get a full refund.
