So, Whatchu Been Up To Today?

Picked up a new pistol this morning, hung out with an old friend I haven't seen in too long and got the outline done for a cover up tattoo. Now I am sitting at home with the family and looking at Craigslist for a 2004-06 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited (preferably a Rubicon) with a manual and hard top. Talk about trying to find a unicorn!

Cleaned the gutters
Took wife and son to see Guardians Vol 2 (which included a trip to the rest room during the movie to pull out one of my son's teeth)
Freddy's for lunch
Trip to Lowes to pick up Mother's Day gift for MIL
Visit to MIL's house
Watched Fantastic Beasts at home with wife and son
Wrapped up MD gifts after wife went to bed
Played tooth fairy after son fell asleep
Now watching the first Guardians on TV, about to head to bed...gotta sub in for SS teacher the next two weeks

Guardians Vol 2 was excellent
Fantastic Beasts was a complete waste of my time (but wife and son love it)

Had a hockey game tonight, only 7 of us so it was a marathon of a game. I havent been this exhausted after a game in years.
but
Scored a goal during regulation and when it went to a shootout I had a goal that won us the game.
Felt dang good.

Married my daughter off, in the mountains of Amhurst VA.
and I thought buying guns was costing me $$$$$ sh1t weddn stuff aint nooooooooo joke son.
I am paying for mine this Saturday and it has cost me a small aresenal. Thankfully the little lady is totally onboard with me replenishing it.

Took the day off while wife went to work the morning. Tilled garden plots took a showet and we are going to a friends house to swim.

However last night i did this

Wheel weights + 2% tin
158 gr exactly and dropped at .358 so no sizing. Gonna tumble lube with 45/45/10

Getting another load of my stuff moved from Virginia to Kernersville.

I finished up hanging an insulated garage door for a client, reffed a soccer game, and have been getting ammo and other preps in place for a national competition this weekend. We'll be competing in Henry Repeater, Smoothbore, Musket, Carbine, Pistol. For once, we'll have a full strength team on the line! :D

Wishing this rain would stop for a while.

Going to take the car to get the roof vinyl wrap replaced this morning.
No idea what I'm gonna do while I don't have the car.
Guess I could get the Ducati out and ride for a while...it's been a while since I've ridden.

Trying to figure out what I'm going to do this weekend too.
Maybe go somewhere new to hike.
Haven't been to Raven Rock in a long time, maybe there this weekend.
Thought about Medoc Mountain too.

Busy weekend I guess.

Hiking on Saturday for only 6 mi, but with the heat/humidity, it seems harder.
Had around 10mi total "walking" for the day with all the other stuff I did.
Made some chicken quesadilla later Saturday.

Today..
Took one of the doggies out to walk a bit.
I was getting ready to head out and Taylor knows...
So, I took her with me and we went to the Neuse Greenway, walked for about 30min.
Tried to walk a little slowly so I wouldn't sweat so much, but didn't work.

And, she won't drink any water while out, so I don't like getting her out in the heat/humidity.
She pants horribly and her tongue gets so huge from all the panting.
/shrug/

Came home and didn't feel great.
Back hurting and my tummy a bit upset.
Didn't do much for about 2hr, but then decided I couldn't be lazy.

So I got out and mowed all my half acre (minus the house).
Took me 2hr with the push mower.
Got a bit overheated towards the end, but finished up knowing I was gonna use the water hose to cool off. :)
Sprayed my legs off (grass) and then my head and neck for a good long time.

Feeling better after getting cooled off and something to eat.

Off tomorrow too.
Not sure what I'll do though, except make a blueberry/peach cobbler for my son. :)

@wolfpack65 , I always used to drink a lot of water when I was out on the bike. It's easy to get dehydrated when riding. Several years ago I started drinking Gatorade and it made a world of difference. Now, I'll drink it before I go out into the heat. That ol' sun will pull all of the energy right out of ya.

Besides battling a major hangover, I've really only just cruised here and YouTube today.

Minor feats were moving the coop and run so the new chicks get some new grass to destroy and organizing the safe again.

Yea, when riding the bicycle, if we were out for a 3-4hr ride, I'd drink all I had, refill at our stops/stores and maybe even drink a Pepsi or V8.
I sweat everything out that I drink.
On rides like above, I'd drink 4-5, 6 bottles of fluid, not just water, and I wouldn't ever pee on a ride.
I'd be salt crusted when I got home and even still, after drinking when home, it was hours before I peed.
/shrug/

Motorcycle riding - I can see how one could become quite dehydrated, as there aren't enough stops or ways to hydrate on a sport bike...

After today's mowing adventure, I may just put the camelback on so that I have readily available water to drink.
I took breaks for hydration, but maybe not enough and maybe not drinking enough.

I don't drink Gatorade, too sweet for me.
Usually on the bicycle in this kind of weather I'll either use Nuun, or some Hammer Nutrition Fizz...

And, yea, being that my mowing was 98% in the sun, it sure did pull the energy out of me...

Took my son out exploring nature....he calls us "Nature Trackers"....something he picked up from a show he likes. He saw enough rabbits, squirrels, hummingbirds, and purple martins to fill an entire months' worth of exploring. Roamed around on my mom's farm with my rifle and looked for coyote tracks or kills. Saw some deer. Good day with the boy

Church and family stuff till 2. My wife's afternoon appointments cancelled so she got put on kid duty and I loaded up and went to Randleman lake. Caught a good catfish and nothing else. A tournament was ending as I was coming in, one guy I talked to said the fishing was terrible and the most fish caught was 5. He was right, this rain has gave them lock jaw it seems. Got some good paddling exercise for a few hours if nothing else.

Last day of my daughter's volleyball tourney, lawn work and then a 3 hour drive to the mountains. Sitting back with a glass of wine now and kicking back to the sounds of peace and quiet. And the snorting from the ornery deer that just told me off.

I went to my buddy's range and shot a few rounds and then sat around and shot the bull with the guys. I hadn't been in the last two weeks so I was catching up on all of the gun and car trades.

Went to our daughter and future SIL's apartment for dinner, grilled some burgers. A couple of hours later I start itching and breaking out in hives. Last time was on father's day when I had a steak.

Do they have a cat? That's how cats affect me.

No, my wife is allergic to them, I've been bit by a couple of ticks this year so I'm afraid I've contracted that lone Star tick disease where you can't eat red meat. 4th time in about a month or so that this has happened.

Off today.

Went to the dr this morning when they opened to get an appt to see my dr.
Back hurting more this morning, as well as my left shoulder.
Couldn't bend over or if I was able to, wouldn't be able to stand back up.
Got an appt at noon, hope it's not a waste of $40.

Other than that & taking Lilly to the vet for a check up, I don't have many plans for today.
Might need to just chill remainder of day after dr appt.

"Go see if you can find out what's going on with the top strobe at the Raeford site".....

Ummmm..... ok.

Found bits and pieces scattered over about a 2 acre area. My guess is perfectly timed lightning with some hellacious winds. 500' can get kinda sporty....

Saw doctor at noon, says my shoulder pain is tendonitis.
Back pain, which I've had for years off & on, no real diagnosis except degeneration in L1/L2.
Shot of cortisone in the shoulder and prescriptions for some pain meds for both shoulder/back/hip pain.

Suppose I should maybe ice one or the other for a bit, but need to make a peach/blueberry cobbler.

A good cobbler will cure a lot of aches and pains. Hope you get back to feeling well soon.

haha...funny you mention cobbler...

I bought too many peaches last week at Farmers Market.
Asked my son if he wanted some, then I remembered how much he loves the peach/blueberry cobbler I make...

So, I made one, or two...

And, I do have some vanilla ice cream to go with. :)

And I may be right behind Geezer. Lol

Turned out pretty good, the cobblers.
Gave one to my son and I kept the other one.
Been eating a bit here & there and it'll be gone by weekend's end.

Back is still quite a bit sore, doing stretches and trying to take it easy.
Legs are sore too from a bit of squats & lunges done on Wednesday.
Probably shouldn't have done a workout then, but my back felt OK at teh time.

Gonna be off work in about 1.5hr then off till Wednesday.
Unless I decide to come in a few hours on Monday...

Y'all have a great weekend, stay safe!

Spent last night at a friend's on the north side of Atlanta. Woke up early and had a job interview down there. Hopped in the car and drive through storms, idiots, accidents and insanity to arrive here about 7. Chilling out in the recliner all damned evening. With drinks of course. Thinking range day tomorrow!

Then this happened after moron here bought spray hair color instead of silly string to give a bunch of girls to spray us dads with. Topped it off with shaving cream just for the fun of it...

Chilling today.
Stretching, trying to do all I can to get my back feeling better.
Paid my bills this morning, got a couple dimes left till next payday.

Really thinking about shooting the sniper match tomorrow....
Should have someone here to wrangle me in and keep me home.

Thinking about grilling this afternoon - but not yet sure what I'll fix.

@B00ger - that colored hair spray looks good on you! :D

@wolfpack65 hope you get straightened out soon and are are pain free. I'm already looking forward to seeing what you put on the grill. I'm just going to keep it simple, hot dogs, corn, and taters.

I was fortunate this morning, I enjoyed breakfast with the company of our very own @Brangus . It's always good to meet up with forum members. Anytime any of you are going to be in the Grand Strand area let me know, I'll do my best to meet up with you.

And thank you for taking the time for a great breakfast meet up and also for helping me to enroll into the Halls of Weber School.

Today was my lucky day and I appreciate all of the instructional time you provided to re-introduce me to the charcoal world of cooking. Now if I'll just slow down and pay close attention to you, @Wahoo95 , and @wolfpack65 I just may be able to post some decent pics in the grillin' threads.

Life is good.
