I have a dual axle ramp trailer new led lights 18 foot long no breaks no title located in Winston
Pms replied to still up for grabs
Did you lose the title?
Has there ever been a title or Certificate of origin?
Is this a factory built trailer?
Was trailer "home made" and no inspection/title obtained?
(Looks factory built)
Is trailer stolen or "borrowed"?
Has it ever had a tag attached to it?
This is just what I need but....
I could be in the market too, but I'd need the answers to the above questions also.
If you could supply a valid VIN on the trailer this could answer a lot of questions. With a VIN a simple phone call to the DMV in Raleigh will tell you who the last registered/titled owner is. Ive been down the "trailer with no title in NC" road before and it sucks. Basically worthless in the fact it cant be tagged, unless the buyer is going to use it for "farm use" only.
Do you know what the axles are rated for and does the trailer have working brakes.
If a home built trailer, a title is pretty easy to get. Go down to the license plate agency and apply for one. They will give you a serial number to stamp on the frame. Then a government official comes come to inspect the trailer, I believe it was a state trooper that came. He signed my papers and I sent it off to Raleigh. It wasn’t bad.
If anyone is worried about it being stolen, the serial number is supposed to be stamped on the axle and frame.
I think it's one of those ghost trailers!
Has the OP (Wesleyh336) responded to anyone about this trailer?
yes he responded to me about it shortly after he put it up
Did you learn anything about the title situation? Doesn't seem like there's been any OP contact since I asked questions...
I guess the title issue is irrelevant if there's no effort to make the deal.
Sorry I forgot this was on here yes the trailer was “borrowed/stolen “ lol I sold it and didn’t realize it was still on here I don’t get updates when people post on the message but I get them when you pm
