Someone stumbled on one of y'all's boating accidents

Let me know which rivers are close to y'all. I'd like to try magnet fishing some day soon.

Just pick an area that gets fished regularly so people are around to loose stuff and go for it. Rare earth magnet and para cord.

Thanks for the advice... However, I was more looking for those sunken boats carrying safes and firearms that get lost all the time.

Its funny. The title says "Father and son find a hoard of WW2 guns while trawling river" then it says "They also retrieved a pair of M16 assault rifles"

They have no clue what's there and what the hell they found.
You trying to say this isn't a complete list of WWII firearms?

Neil Hopkins and son Billy’s haul included a Thompson machine gun, a US civil war pistol, an AK47 and a musket from the 1800s.

Lol. I have it on good authority, that General Patton carried that exact Civil War pistol during his wartime service.

Apparently the local constabulary doesn't either
“It was thought that the weapon parts could have originated from various weapon factories which were operating during the second world war.

“Suggestions that the previous find contained weapons such as Kalshnikovs and Uzis were dismissed as Avon and Somerset’s force armourer confirmed the badly rusted parts were thought to date back to between 50 to 60 years and therefore not those type of guns.

“It is believed that this is the case this time and the weapons are to be examined by the armourer prior to destruction.

“The latest weapon parts discovered appear to be part of same cache found two years ago.”

Cops removed the latest catch for inspection and are dredging the river again this morning.

So dredge the river again, cause we can't have frogs climbing out of the water with a dreaded assault weapon.

M16, AK47, FAL, what look like HK91 parts - yeah, WW2 alright.

They all look like they have been crushed or cut.

AK's have been around since 1949 and Uzi's since 1954. The level of incompetence is baffling.

The M16 aluminum lower looks to be in decent condition. Maybe missing the front takedown pin area. Lets hope its not a 3 pin for their sake!

For fun....stuff I see in the pile, parts of:

Enfield No. 1 Mk III (nosecaps and triggerguard)

M1 Garand

M1 Carbine

BAR

AK47

Thompson

M16

HK91/CETME

FAL - Oh, I want that paratrooper folding stock in that pile!

Carcano

98 Mauser

Webley or Bulldog revolver

Grease gun or similar SMG with wire stock

Tranters patent revolver

PPSh-41

So, most of it does, indeed, appear to be WWII era. But, several pieces are not.

“All the items were in various states of repair and badly rusted beyond use on that occasion and the items were taken to the force armoury where they were destroyed.

That's the saddest part of this. Even though they were all rusted and no longer functional, they still felt the need to destroy them. They could be, at least, interesting wall hangers.

I can't imagine living in such a hoplophobic society that a bunch of rusty old gun parts would make the news, much less receive an official statement from the police.

All praise to Almighty God for giving our ancestors the clarity of vision, the testicular fortitude and the unwavering resolve to force our separation from such a pathetic and spineless people.

But, you need to thank them for spreading freedom for the last 400 years.

I'm surprised Dad and Son weren't sentenced to Forever and a Day in prison for illegally possessing firearms (parts) as soon as they hauled them up.

Wait till they troll Falls Lake. The number of Republican boating accidents there is staggering.

I've found a bunch of guns diving.
All spearguns.
People would set them down to chase a lobster or whatever, and then come back to get it and the gun was gone.
No, the gun was still where you left it, but now you were the one who was gone.
Found a bunch of knives too. Still have my favorite, all encrusted in coral.
Found a cannonball on an old 1600's shipwreck off Islamorada in about 18 feet of water. Assault-cannon ball.
