Brownells is making a somewhat copy of the AR-18/AR180 upper that mates up to an AR 15 lower but in 7075 aluminum. It does allow for a true folding stock with no buffer . Its basically what is SIG now using in its Virtus/Rattler MCX line for about half of what sig sells their upper conversion for . In any case the Brownells BRN180 upper comes in 10.5" and 16" for a pretty good price . I picked up a 10.5" and attached it to one of my SBR lowers. I also picked up a New Frontier side folding lower to put a fixed folder magpul A2 length stock on but until the stamp comes back it will be in this configuration.

Ive got one of the BR-180 lowers on pre order . $98 if you have even a C&R FFL in with them. I dont intend on using it on the upper though. Its going under my dedicated 22 upper. Integral rail rear on that one . Theres some cool lowers coming out these days. Lots of innovation going on, The platform has been static for decades so this is pretty cool. The New frontier folders are pretty slick too. Ive got two and the really dont seem to have taken off ( both of mine are under SN 100 ) which is a shame. They're great twists on a stale base. If they went so damn expensive I'd buy more. Still cheaper than a folding stock attachment and the good thing is the buffer extension is in the stock instead of the carrier like the LAW folder attachment

How's that feel when you choot it lefty?

Like shooting left handed always feels. More comfortable even though I am right handed.

Ive got a SIG Ratller top end on another AR lower and the SIG Virtus/MCX/Rattler is basically just a AR-18 upper set up on a AR-15 lower very similar to this so its not much of a stretch for me.

I'm surprised they havent come out with a complete rifle. They do have a lower they are selling that follows a slightly similar profile but no furniture so far. I picked up one of their pre order forged 180 lowers just because I figured I could use a SIG collapsible stock on it ( the rear tube bulge on an AR-15 wont allow for its use ) for either that upper or for a completely different build.
