Our son has crohns. As many know, he also won a recent battle with Hodgkin's lymphoma. His oncologist believes that humira caused the cancer and is opposed to any more biologic treatment for crohns.
He had 2 bad flare ups in a month with bleeding. So he was directed to go to the ER today. CT showed thickening of the intestinal wall and scaring. They died him up with morphine and are holding him over night for more tests.
He's been through so much. Yet he's taking this in stride.
His colleagues sent him a group picture of support for him.

Looks like another night. More tests and waiting for results.
He just wants to go home, then go to the gym.
Update.
They released him Sunday evening.
They will be recommending Budesonide. It is a newer steroid that, in pill form, targets the intestinal track in crohns patients. Doesn't have the nasty side effects of prednisone. And is approved for long term use.
