Sooo.....I didn't know this was a thing...

True. They are going to do it for the first week of what ever season they have. NFL put out the release

NF who?

I think the last entire superbowl I watched was XVII.

WTF is the black national anthem, Big Poppa by Notorious B.I.G.? And why TF would a country as diverse and heterogeneous as ours play its national anthem at a sporting event?

honestly, the astounding lack of subtlety toward boiling the population over the edge by engineering racial divide is bizarre. The crap they are asking for and doing is so ludicrous it feels like I’m living in a sitcom. It’s painfully bold yet no one on the other side will actually admit anything.

Merged threads...

Meanwhile the NBA is doing this:

On Saturday, it was reported that players will be able to include social justice messages on the backs of their jerseys at Disney. That decision, while powerful, puts the onus on players. The league itself needed to send a message of solidarity, and is doing so with its latest decision. According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Zach Lowe and Ramona Shelburne, the league plans to paint "Black Lives Matter" on both sidelines on all three of the courts they will be using at Disney's Wide World of Sports Complex.

He Hate Me available?

I will not watch week 1 of NFL. This is more pandering BS that has to stop.
And ten bucks says 90% of black people didnt know this 'song' (Ive not looked into it, just assumed) existed.

Do not forget that this is an orchestrated attack on the American way. This is NOT the chance uprising of the oppressed and those wanting fairness and justice. This is a psychological war to break America. They WANT to push it until it breaks, in order to rebuild it in their image.

Want a glimpse of their playbook? I offer you this Wiki summary as a sort of Cliffnote version. When Obama was first campaigning and I saw some of the techniques he was using, I turned to my wife and said, he's working right out of the playbook. This is playbook I was talking about.

Here is a small piece for those reluctant to click.

Part 3. United Action and Self-Sacrifice
In mass movements, an individual's goals or opinions are unimportant. Rather, the mass movement's "chief preoccupation is to foster, perfect and perpetuate a facility for united action and self-sacrifice". Mass movements have several means.

Mass movements demand a "total surrender of a distinct self". One identifies the most as “a member of a certain tribe or family," whether religious, political, revolutionary, or nationalist. Every important part of the true believer's persona and life must ultimately come from their identification with the larger community; even when alone, the true believer must never feel isolated and unwatched. Hoffer identifies this communal sensibility as the reappearance of a "primitive state of being" common among pre-modern cultures. Mass movements also use play-acting and spectacle designed to make the individual feel overwhelmed and awed by their membership in the tribe, as with the massive ceremonial parades and speeches of the Nazis.

While mass movements idealize the past and glorify the future, the present world is denigrated: "The radical and the reactionary loathe the present." Thus, by regarding the modern world as vile and worthless, mass movements inspire a perpetual battle against the present.

---

Successful mass movements need not believe in a god, but they must believe in a devil. Hatred unifies the true believers, and "the ideal devil is a foreigner" attributed with nearly supernatural powers of evil. For example, Hitler described Jews as foreign interlopers and moreover an ephemeral Jewishness, alleged to taint the German soul, was as vehemently condemned as were flesh-and-blood Jews. The hatred of a true believer is actually a disguised self-loathing, as with the condemnation of capitalism by socialists while Russia under the Bolsheviks saw more intensive monopolization of the economy than any other nation in history. Without a devil to hate, mass movements often falter (for example, Chiang Kai-shek effectively led millions of Chinese during the Japanese occupation of the 1930s and the 1940s but quickly fell out of favor once the Japanese were defeated).

Fanaticism is encouraged in mass movements. Hoffer argues that "the fanatic is perpetually incomplete and insecure" and thus uses uncompromising action and personal sacrifice to give meaning to his life.

Hillary Clinton wrote in her 2017 book What Happened, a work discussing her loss to Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential race, cited The True Believer as a book that she recommended to her staff during the campaign.

Just sayin'

Couldn’t agree more. There is no other rationale explanation for the absurdity unfolding before us.I read declassified soviet sabotage manuals and it was scary how much the KGB strategy aligned with today’s liberalism. It was freaky. Basiclly what we have today would have been KGB wet dream in Cold War. Soviet Union spent hundreds of millions achieving what we are voting into office for free.

What nation is the Black national anthem from?!? Must be Niger's.

Almost makes me wish I watched sports, just so I could stop.
I only like to watch the World Series. Played some ball sports as a kid, it bored me, the ball was having all the fun.
Spent my time instead on a motocross track on a 2 stroke, skateboard park or surfing. Riding the edge of injury will make you feel alive!

One doesn’t go from having gay orgies and doing bong hits at frat parties to a no name senator to president without someone pulling your strings. That someone’s the one trying to transform America.

And the NFL wants to place it before the REAL NATIONAL ANTHEM, THE ONLY NATIONAL ANTHEM.

Glad I'm a hockey fan....

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.cb...ng-before-star-spangled-banner-at-week-1/amp/

"Lift Ev'ry Voice and Sing," a song also known as the Black national anthem, will be performed live or played prior to "The Star Spangled Banner" at each of the NFL's Week 1 games in 2020, according to the Associated Press, which adds that the league is also considering memorializing victims of police brutality with helmet decals or jersey patches. These moves are seen as part of the league's collaborative work with its players to raise awareness of systemic racism and police brutality.

Hockey players are now taking knees. Happened at games today.

Why watch it at all? I think anyone that watches NFL foot ball, NLB or the NBA should go ahead and take a knee. It's not a sport any longer, it's a political statement.

Because it's still entertaining and I enjoy it.

As for NHL, earlier today I started to watch a game from Saturday night that I had recorded. One of the fist things I noticed was how they had the two black players (one per team) beside their 'speaker' who then took a knee after his speech about systematic racism etc
Ridiculous.

Jonathan Isaac explains decision to stand during national anthem | NBA on ESPN

Decided to stand for religious reasons, says he believes black lives matter, but sees that the organization has nothing to do with it.

I sure wish he could have started with "Of course black lives are precious and important, but THE ORGANIZATION that calls itself 'Black Lives Matter' has NOTHING TO DO WITH BETTERING THE LIVES OF BLACK PEOPLE, but is rather A FRONT FOR A LONG-PLANNED MARXIST TAKEOVER.

Then he could have started the sermon. See how quickly the reporterette (who was way too loud) got distracted by that?

So did everybody else who would have benefited from an education.

Opportunity blown.

If I want to watch a bunch of scumbags run around and scrimmage I can just toss a dollar on the floor at the local ghetto gas station. No need for politicized sportsball.

Good on that guy for not going with the crowd on the kneeling and stuff

Yeah so to hell with ESPN.
I will NOT watch their channel again. Not that they'll notice, I rarely watch already, but never again. Never will I support, in any way, a channel who wants to make light of a guy getting hurt because he didnt follow the herd.

The guy above, who did not kneel or wear a BLM tee, injured his knee in a season ending injury.

This jackhole posted this

yeah, that is just uncalled for.
and they clearly stepped in it with way more people than they expected to or else they would have stood by it.
makes my heart warm to see that no matter what the media is shouting, there is still a large group of people who just aren't having it.
