Going on a family trip to South Carolina at some point in the future.

Going to be around Georgetown/ Pawleys island.

Looking for attractions you guys know about, perhaps decent places to eat that are family friendly.

Not familiar with the area, and haven't had anything close to a vacation in over 11 years. So going in blind wouldn't be ideal.

Thanks again.

Well, first thing, you've chosen the best places in the area to stay. Totally different that Myrtle Beach, and that's a good thing. Pawleys is a laid back little town and the beach and creek areas on the island are the perfect beaches. They're not commercial and surrounded by nature. Pawleys has some good little places to eat, the most famous is Frank's. Pawleys Island Bakery is a great place, too.

Georgetown has the waterfront and has some nice places to eat, the River Room is good. Other little places scattered around. Kudzu's is a deli/bakery and is awesome. If you're looking for a meat and three place check out Ball & Que on High Market Street. You're gonna like it. PM for my phone number if I can help or answer any questions.

If you are in the Pawleys/Georgetown area you could day trip it to Charleston. Leave early and stop for breakfast at the McClellanville Diner on the way. Go to Patriots Point, the Aquarium. Lots of little spots for lunch in Mt Pleasant by the water.
You can come North to my neck of the woods in Murrells Inlet. A bunch of places to eat, check out the inlet, go visit the beach in Garden City. Or your not too far to visit Dirty Myrtle.

Yeah, Brookgreen is nice. If you want to see some gators, hike a little, go on a not crowded beach, surf fish, go to the jetties, and see an old Castle go across the Highway to Huntington State Park.

So far so good. Eclipse traffic is crazy. The beach wasn't crowded on the is,and though probably cause of the lack of parking.

Thanks again guys
