Looking for advice on local CCW class in South Charlotte/Providence area. Found a number of sites on line, prices range from $99 to $149. Went thru this 5-6 years ago and looking for a painless 8 hour class. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Don’t know about your area. Up here, you can find classes for $55 or less. Watch for extra charges for the range (I paid $55 all in). Not sure how painless they can make covering 2 or 3 hours of material in 8 hours. ;)

Pageland is only 40 miles from S. Charlotte. Go down 84 out of Weddington and straight through downtown Monroe. They are doing some construction so you have to cut back over to 74 after you get through downtown. You just don't want to go 485 to 74. I refuse to pay the high prices they want for most of the CHP classes around Charlotte.

We can definitely help you with that. We have a class going this coming Sunday. Located in Denver, NC. an easy 35 minutes from your location.

Are you looking for a refresher course or needing to go through the full CHL certification course?

The reason I am asking is because Carolina Sporting Arms has a "Concealed Carry Refresher" course that they offer for $20. Here is the course description:

This class will provide you with the updated Concealed Carry laws. We will review new places where you can legally carry your pistol. Students will learn the correct processes for interacting with law enforcement while carrying and after an armed encounter. This class will explain how you can protect yourself physically and financially, before using your firearm to protect yourself or someone else. The expanded list of states with reciprocity will be covered. Students will be shown the correct way to draw from a holster. The importance of accurate multiple hits on target will be stressed.

They are in the area you are looking for as well. If you are looking for an update, it's well worth checking out.

Thanks for the info. Unfortunately I need the whole course as Ive let my current license expire.

Are you within the 90 day period of your expiration date? If so, you are still go to go. Get your paperwork turned into your SO ASAP and they will process it. If not, you are correct, the full course is going to be in order, unfortunately.
