Started last Thursday and fished through yesterday. Dirty water, 5 wind changes, etc. Fished State Park Pier for 5 days and the surf 1 day. Could have filled a cooler and barely got enough for one meal. Lots of small fish, a few decent sized Spanish, sharks fighting each other to grab your fishy before you could get it in. The other piers up the beach are longer and doing better. No hits on my king rigs. The big drum are showing up and my bud caught a 4#3oz flounder right beside me.......dammit. Bait was spotty but when it was in there it was thick.

I think its time to change beaches and maybe head up to NC again if there are any piers left. Myrtle beach piers are too damn crowded and some of the king fishing cliques I understand aren't too welcoming of strangers. Parking sucks at all of them except State Park.

That is all..........

If you can get to Huntington Beach the big trout will be in there in a couple weeks. It's a 2.5 mile walk to the jetty though. Depends on where you put in. Buy live shrimp, lots of them.

Kure has always been a good pier.

We're probably going to venture out of SC next year and find a 'less crowded' beach in NC if that's possible. My buddy bought a house at Ocean Isle and really likes the area. There are several piers and less beach crowding off season. Need a dog friendly place close to the beach so that Chicken Lady doesn't have to walk far.

Apache Pier at Mb has been hot as hell this year and still is. Parking is a bitch and it's really not worth it to me to put up with the hassle.

Been at North Myrtle for a few days, Cherry Grove pier has been packed, Stayed away from there , surfing has been ok, lots of small pompanos, croakers and spots, did catch A black drum, edited per @phideux proper ID, thanks. 80679FC6-08B2-432A-895D-656B67F5F02B.jpeg

The good piers are going to be packed til the fall spot run comes and goes. You might want to get some minners and try for flounder. There have been some large ones showing up. I wish I could get back down there mid-November but it ain't happnin.
