New to me Rooga 96/22 22WMR thanks to an assist from @JimB
Thanks Jim!

Had it chopped to 16" & threaded to sparrow specs to make use of the O ring feature. I'm hoping it is halfway hearing safe. The sonic crack of the 22WMR will be downrange, so it's not that bad to the shooters ear.

This will be a working camp rifle so it should make an honest living.

I have a savage 22mag that a GA Checkmate lives on. Its shooters ear safe and the sonic crack happens downrange. You should be good

The barrel diameter is very small, the index shoulder is only 6-7 thousands of an inch larger than the mount, so finding a thread protector that was not goofy looking took some looking around.

Just to point it out, the sparrow O ring setup helps to stop the suppressor from loosening up. Due to the very minimal index friction, this is a great application for the O ring design.
The sparrow was Silencerco's first commercially sold suppressor and they really did break new trail with it.
Clamshell, O-ring & monocore.
Oldie but goody.

I stole this T.P. one off my CZ kadet conversion upper. Nice fit.

Shoots better than i expected.

Hearing safe at the shooters ear.
The sparrow is definitely a small volume can. Add the locked breech to the equation and you get a "POOF" noise that a larger volume suppressor would not cause.
40gr 22 WMR is a capable round in a carbine length barrel.
I look forward to fooling around with torque values on the action screw and barrel band. I bet i can dial it it.

@Slacker do you need another thread protector? I was cleaning out the safe the other day and came across a 1/2 one that's not long enough for AR rifles, designed for handguns (bought it for an AR without reading it all.

I can shoot it out in the mail this week if you can use it.

I am really jealous, I'm ready to get my 22 all set and quiet, but it still needs more than just a can lol.

Nice offer!
I already ordered one though.
Is yours a 22WMR?

I'm building a SBR AR22 for the wife with a dedicated can. Well, dedicated until new 22s come in lol

Folding stock?
No need for special buffers or bolts with the 22 bolt. Makes a folder no prob.
Build it as evil as possible...the next CINC will likely have a hard on for everything more evil than pointy sticks.

I never thought about doing a folder on that one, it was going to be a 300BO from the start, but a 22 makes it more evil because of more evil features. The shoulder thing that goes in and side ways, that's pure evil. :D
