Bass Pro's parent company Great Outdoors LLC will pay Sportsman's Warehouse $55 million to terminate the merger, according to Sportsman's filing with the Security and Exchange Commission.

Not a bad consolation prize. Thanks for playing.

And good for the FTC to recognize the high level of consolidation in the industry.

Of course, you know what that means, right?

Bass Pro will now work to put Sportsman's Warehouse out of business, since they're competing companies. Afterwards, Bass Pro will own their share of the market.

Didn't Sportsman's buy one of the pieces of the Remington break up?

They don’t have one near Raleigh.
Closest is Greenboro, then Wilmington.

hasn’t that always been the case?

Maybe bass pro will work towards putting SW out of business by offering good deals. Doubt it though.

When ATT failed to aquire Tmobile, Tmobile ran with the settlement cash and some extra bandwith on ATT towers and proceeded to kick their ass.

I had heard from one of the managers at the Wilmington store that the deal had fallen through a couple weeks ago. Honestly I didn’t believe the guy when he told me but I guess he was right.

Yes- that's what we want- competition. And that means BP needs to lower their prices to compete- good for the consumer.

Academy is doing great in the same market- I bought a bunch of their stock and they're beating revenues every quarter.

Now if SW would just lower their ammo prices to ATLEAST academy sports prices. 🙏 One thing I do like about SW is the 10% off coupon(s), especially when purchasing a fireman.
The ladies on the site might be interested in this option.
@Millie

SW is one of the few places that have been getting primers in and selling them at somewhat reasonable prices. The Asheville store posts when they get some in on FB. My last good primer score was there. 5,000 Winchester LPP for $30 a 1000 back in early 2021.

They had them for $54 a thousand a couple months ago. Limit 1000. Wasn’t worth the drive for me, but good to see.

Competition is always a good thing. Don't need Bass Pro ruining another lineup

Their prices aren’t always good it I still shop there when I’m in Asheville.
