    for anybody that’s done it...

Do you spray the whole thing? Anybody just spray the portion that hangs out of the magwell?

The only ones I've done were in a gun when I sprayed it. But I can't imagine out of the gun full coverage hurting anything. A few practice reloads will remove any offending finish.

I have done both ways and both work. The mag may stick a few times but after a couple reloads it works itself out like Beef15 said.

I just covered the openings to keep spray out of the innards. Sprayed em all over. Had no effect on function.

    Do it all the time...

Have a cardborad tray that’s 10.5” x 16” x 2.5”. I cut 6 slots in the bottom of it that are slightly smaller than the dimensions of the magazine body. I spaced the slots far enough apart where I’d get good coverage if I painted half a dozen mags at a time. The magazines stay upright and with the magazines stuck into the slots, with the top contacting the surface below, it puts the magazines at just the right height for the paint to cover the mag body up to a little past the point where the mag is inserted into the magazine well.
