Really wanting a 10mm. Anyone have a Springfield XD-M? Curious as how the grip compares to the Glock 40. The Glock feels a little big on my hands and would like something with a smaller circumference. What’s your opinion between the two?

Get one, they are tuff pistols and should serve you well.....I like my G40 with the Vortex Venom red dot on it, does the Springfield have a place to mount a small red dot type of scope?

They do have a optics ready version. Problem is I can’t one in stock locally to pick up and hold. Not sure I’m ready to pull the trigger and order It, without holding it first.

I set out to get into 10mm with a search for a G20 or an XDM. Like you, I couldn't find anything in stock anywhere. Luckily, I found one of each this month. I haven't fired either one yet, but as for size/feel, they both feel roughly the same to me, although I do prefer the grip safety of the XDM. I have relatively long fingers, so neither feels like they are too big. Neither are optic ready, and I wanted that, but picked up what came available. The G20 was new, the XDM like new.

After you get a chance to shoot them, let me know what you think.

I think @Tim had one of those. Although I have been wrong once or twice.
I did, and it was great. But I moved it on to another illustrious member here.

I had bought the 5.25” model that was NOT optics ready. I decided I wanted to put a mop tic in, but I’ve never replaced it as of yet.

XD-M 4.5" OSP Threaded Handgun has a barrel length of 5.28 with the shorter 4.5 slide

XD-M 5.25" Competition Series Handgun has a barrel length of 5.25 and the full-length slide

I'm not sure why they made the barrel so long and the slide so short on the OSP model. I know it's threaded for suppressor use but in the pictures, it looks like the barrel extends more than needed past the slide. I wish the 5.25 was optics ready, that is the model I prefer. @Tim how did it shoot, was it accurate, and what was the recoil like?

Xd is a smaller grip than Glock 10mm

"XD''?...or XDM? I just compared my XDM 10mm to my G20, the G20 is a little bigger, but only because I have the largest backstrap installed. The widths are exactly the same.
I just installed the largest backstrap on my XDM (which I prefer) and it now front to back also
measures exactly the same as the G20.

Illustrious?

I had Tim's XDm and a G20.3. The XDm was superior in terms of ergos, and just sorta felt better in the hand and when firing. However, my desire to standardize on one brand as much as possible caused me to sell it and stick with the G20 (which has the same plastic 2x4 ergos as all glocks, which is why we love them. or something.)

Also, the G20 had a much greater chance of me finding a 9x25 barrel for it (although barsto will make one for the XDm too so it's not impossible, just not possible to find an old wolf barrel from years ago).
